Curing an outdoor plant

I have no experience with anything outdoor, I'm an indoor grower. My buddy grew this monster sativa ( Sugarpunch) that just got gigantic ( by our standards) theres probably at least 2 or 3 pounds on this christmas tree of a plant.
Trouble is, he's had it hanging in his outdoor shed for over 2 months now. Granted, its winter time here, and he does have cold air ventilation going on, but I dont know if its wise he keeps it hanging that long without jarring it up. We did a little bit of it and I noticed the leaves were crispy dry but the buds still sticky.
I did a few jars of bud and it looks like its gotten dry real quick once it hit a heated room in the jars.
You guys that do this outdoor stuff, whaddayathink ?

2 months even in Antarctic temps is to long get it jarred up and maybe drop a potato peel or two in there with it to let it moisten up a bit again

He's lazy and has some kind of depression goin on he says. I'm tryin to coax him into cleanin it so it doesnt go to waste. Its a beautiful plant, the stalk has the diameter of a baseball bat and thats no shit. As an indoor grower, its completely out of my league. The work to clean a whole tree like this is an enormous task, far more than anything I'm used to.
I offered to do it all for him for a QP but I dont think he's trusting enough. I guess I don't blame him, but I'm here shittin myself because I'm seeing a huge crop possibly going to waste.

He gave me an OZ I put in 2 jars. I threw in a couple leaves from my current indoor plants and thats bringin them around. He says he's gonna put orange peeles in with it and I told him I wouldnt do that. He's gonna fuck it up I just know it.

don't get me wrong ive seen a friend before dry a plant to quick but the he basically trimmed it roughly and put it in a couple cardboard boxes with a lid but a little bit of air could still get in...threw a handful of potato peels in and it came good in 5 or 6 days then jarred it..not the best but it helped

Actually, thats whats driving me nuts. My instincts want to get at it. Its been hanging in a wooden shed for 2 months now. Nearly 8 friggin weeks.
And this isn't just a few hours work though, this thing is huge. Its a LOT more than a few hours for a coupla guys to do.
Honestly, its 5-6 feet tall but it has the diameter of a fat Christmas tree. Way more than anything I've ever messed with. I'm a 90 gram tops guy
I figure he was lucky mostly because he had good genetics. Sannies Sugerpunch is an ass kickin strain. Thats why I have interest in it.

.....Don't know what that means. I should. I mean, its a simple enough statement. If you mean the drier the plant is the more high you get off of it I wouldn't necessarily agree with that.

Talk him into letting you take care of all the trimming for some buds
in return no? He would ruin the pot using orange peels. Bread or lettuce works
great and leaves no after taste or smell. I've been lazy and Monday the 15th
will be two months of trimming for me at a few hours a day and at this rate it will take me exactly
8 more months to finish trimming my last grow. I'm an idiot although all buds always
turn out great no matter how long it takes me to trim. Killer smoke does not go bad
from sitting around in the open, inside for months and months guaranteed. Zero change in any way.

Now this here....this is what I really wanted to know. I dont have the experience with large outdoor raised plants and I just didnt know about it hanging for a long period of time. Now I know if it was the hot summer it wouldnt work, but in a fairly steady very cold environment how that would fare.

Once the buds lose their original moisture they don't get it back....jar it ASAP doesn't matter if you trim it or not...sure you can use bread or lettuce. . But it's never gonna be the same...!! If you're lucky it was really cold and the fat nuggs are still holding enough moisture to even itself out with a long cure!

Potato peel, orange and tangerine, mandarine peel works too, even Apple works, orange leaves a bitey flavour and Apple sweetens it up, I learned that from smoking tobacco from a pouch! We all know you can't get the original moisture back but it's better than smoking dry shit, so throw some peels in and use a little at a time till they dry up and if it ain't moist enough throw a bit more in till it's right.

What I'm kinda liking is a few fresh leaves from my current indoor grow put in each jar. It sucks the moisture right out of the leaves very quick it seems.
