First Time Flowering tips?

Hello all!

My babies are doing fucking amazing! For my first grow I am extremely proud of myself, I am trying to become an established member and post a journal but since I do not yet have permission I was wondering if anyone has any tips to boost yield in flower? I am on week 5 of flowering and just started adding Hi-Brix molasses for plants to my nute mix(purely fox farm with Cali-MG added, I have been doing 1/4-1/2 of recommended dose of all nutrients. My plants are in 5 G and 3G pots with a mix of FFOF, COCOLOCO, and LIGHT WARRIOR(adding perlite next grow). I have kept it all in the same line for uniformity although I have heard a lot about synthetic being mixed with organic for great results. I am open to any and all suggestions! Currently have 5 plants in a 3x3x6 grow tent with a 600w light at 75%. Phantom cookies, Pure kush, Master Kush, Banana Kush, and Lary OG. They are all spot on pH wise and show no signs of any def/tox.

Another ? I have 20 babies growing up in a 4x3x8 room. When I move them to flower and transplant would there be a huge difference in end yield using a 3 gallon vs 5 gallon? I am limited on space but do not want to restrict the growth of my plants and lower yields.

I don't find a huge difference in 3 vs 5 gal. Just me. No light leaks, Keep them happy and you will good. Not sure the molasses does anything but attract bugs, but some swear by it.

congratulations on your first grow! sounds like you're doing great. i'm with GrowinDad on the molasses. also, i learned in flower i wasn't watering them enough and they need veg nutrients for the first two or three weeks in flower and then introduce bloom nutrients. other than that, keep it simple! 8-)

i'd just use the 3-gallon and not worry about the 5-gallon if you're low on space.

The mollasas is food for microbes, so if you have some beneficial bacteria in your soil it's good. I also think it contains calcium and magnesium which is also good especially during flower. Just keep it simple and don't look to increase yield on your first grow since you don't have anything to compare yield to yet. Next grow you can try something else and you'll know if it increased yield or not, (pk Booster ect) but I find that using a modest amount of nutes and not adding a ton of extra other nutes (snake oils) has a more positive effect. Pk Boosters are something you need to read about because if used wrong will mess up a plant. They are very powerful and only supposed to be used for a few days to a week usually. I think you'll be fine without adding unnecessary factors in to your grow, and if you're grow is awesome as you say then you should be very happy and proud and not want to change anything 8-)

From the way it sounds you're doing exactly what you're supposed to be doing and keeping em happy. I'll throw a few first grow tips I commonly see threads started over. Get a jewelers scope. By the time your girls are milky they'll be putting on a majority of their bulk. Also if you DON'T have a humidity monitor then grab one for sure so you can make adjustments accordingly. Nothing worse than budrot to decrease yeald. Um keep the cat out lol.

That's funny you said keep the cat out, I have two cats that go ape shit over leaves. They would destroy a plant if I let them. I have to lock them out to water, or whatever.

Thank you! Much appreciated I will post some pictures when I get home

Haha thanks! No animals though. I'm out in Denver so rh is 20%. Its nice for flower but veg sucks! I have a humidifier for that room and I constantly spray the walls but its hard to maintain anything over 35%

Congrats on getting this far! Harvest is always a great time.

Few things. Get rid of molasses. As states no real use in synthetic grows as it is only feeding microbe populations. And those are pretty much not there useing ff nutes.

At this point I'm not sure much can be done to substantially increase yields for plants in flower. Just keep everything balanced. I have never found a miracle product.
True organics cannot be mixed with synthetic nutrients. But IMO true living organic soil is the prime method to growing.

For your plants in veg? 3-5 gallon pots? Depends on size of mature plants. One gallon per square foot or something of foliage is the ratio I use. Do you scrog or sog? I find indica do much better in a sog whereas sativas and blends to better in scrog.
I have a black afghani kush which gets toped once veggies for three weeks. Produces 2-3 oz in 2g pots

Good luck. And happy growing

Thank you! I have four plants that have at least 6 good sized colas each I tied them down and trained them but didn't use a screen as I should have. My tent looks little odd with 4 bushes and one regular plant. I have 17 almost mature ready to flower as soon as these are done to see if my lstd plants or a sog yields best in the amount of space I have. What is true living organic soil? Is that like subzeros mix? I have read about it somewhere I just can't seem to recall where. I really appreciate all the information! I will cut out the molasses until I am using a medium that benefits from it.

Subcool mix is an amended organic soil mix. I've never tried his recipe. True living organics is a whole style of growing where we feed the soil. It's alive! In turn the micro herds break down organic material an turn it into avail nutrients to our plants.

Synthetic chelated (bottle nutes ) nutrients are Cemically avail instantly to rhizosphere. However ever effectively kill off all benefitialbacteria and micro organism. I'm no expert but feel free to follow my grow journal for my adventure into organics. Results have been amazing. Yields. Quality. Taste. Less hassle! And recycle soil for many seasons.

Also LST is just fine! It's all strain dependent as to which method works best.

You'll find some respond better to topping once. Others to training. Others to a net.

Good to see this thread and all details & tips.. I'm decided what to Plant in a Garden with Vegetables.. So first, take a look at how much your family will eat when you think about how to plan a vegetable garden. Keep in mind that vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, and squash keep providing throughout the season -- so you may not need many plants to serve your needs. Other vegetables, such as carrots, radishes, and corn, produce only once. You may need to plant more of these.
Hope you will help me guys.. If I need.

Yes yes! I actually plan to use all my old soil( 4 plus grow outside for my veggie gardens this year! Carrots. Beets. Kale. Few kinda of sqush and hopefully some eggplant this year. Happy growing! There is no better therapy than getting hands dirty!
