I don't understand why u haven't got carbon filters. you also have too much crap I think stop overthinking everything and just get a 600w mh/hps and carbon filter next time.

Hey newbie.... lesson number one, straight up.... its prolly cal-mag.

browse the plant problems forum for an evening youll see what I mean, 80% or more of all "Whats wrong with my plants" posts... are solved with "add calmag"

Its super important yet not included in ANY of the major nutes brands, all of which want you to use RO water, and the RO filter strips it out.

If u ever play with coco coir, use even more calmag.

Always always, and then after that, always monitor the Ph as well....

Mix your nutes, check the solutions Ph, adjust to a proper level. (6.8ish for soil, 5.8ish for hydro) otherwise all the nutes in the world can be present, but still be unable to be absorbed by the plant @ that Ph level.... (Lockout) Often a calmag issue pops up with new growers who ARE adding calmag, but still see deficiencies, this is usually the cause.

Bro, I have a bathroom and a vent, that's not the problem.

Problem is I have people coming in and out and the only thing keeping the smell contained is the closed door and a towel under neath.

So my worst case scenario with the current situation is? and the probability?
The nugs will be less potent due to high RH. 100% chance.

Mold chance is high and will destroy your crop. HEPA and UVB are your potential defenders. UVB will kill mold, I think it's your best be, it also helps push weed to produce resin, like low RH does. The best solution is to fix your venting issue though.

ROLFAMO. Now calmag is going to solve RH problems. You are either brain dead or didn't read the thread at all.

I swear RIU must be funded by CalMag.

Get a 4" carbon filter, a 4" inline fan, and pop out that old bathroom vent fan in your ceiling, rig the inline up to pull air from the grow room, thru filter on one end, vented to the fan, and exhausting thru the already existing 4" bath exhaust vent out the roof.....

Hell, even the filter is optional depending on the buildings height....

The venting outside will allow fresh air from in the house to pull in from the house into the bathroom, providing fresh CO2 enriched air, and lowering your humidity.... you need this.

I was still working on page one posts, chillax...

Besides, my statement is not less true because it doesn't apply to this situation at this time... Newbies need good advice, not bickering trolls, n he had enough of the latter in this post.

Does the heat from the floor based CFLs there bug the growth above the lights? I had one helping in a closet grow this past run, and seemed to wilt the piss out of just the one plant it was mounted near.... thinking of getting a 4' T8/T5 for that area instead if its a common issue...

It's less true because many nutrients contain calcium and magnesium. GH Flora, GH MaxiSeries, DynaGro, ...

Also, CalMag should never be needed if you are using Tap or Well water, only heavily filtered waters. Tap and Well have calcium in plenty. And CalMag should never be used just to add Calcium or Magnesium, it should only be used when you need both additional Calcium and additional Magnesium. It's a honey pot for newbs to fork over cash to the deception machine.

Usually people use it when they just need magnesium, a better option, Magnesium Sulfate (Epsom) is available at the corner pharmacy for about $3 a pound and you should only need 1/4 teaspoon or so.

Alright, now we're talking options, UVB? you mean those Terrarium Lamps? if so, can you point me to one in amazon? and how many should I get for my setup?

reptisun 10.0 uvb. They use florescent tech, so they come in tubes or CFLs, that is your person decision. I think two should allow you to place them for decent coverage, and coverage is what you should be concerned with for mold. UVB puts stress on your plants (they produce more resin as a defense mechanism), so don't go nuts and over do it. 20-40w should be more than enough.

Just note this isn't a commonly recommended approach for mold. It may work, but the better solution is to fix your venting issue.

Why do first time growers try to use advanced growing techniques? Don't they realize that they will spend an inordinate amount of time trying to do them, only to get a reduced yield because they messed up somewhere or to only see a tiny improvement.

You'll get better results just by adding more light than trying to do a SCROG.

Better to have a small crop nearly guaranteed, than try to go for the Guinness Book of World Records. First learn to crawl before you try to fly.

you got me on that one...when the thread first opened he had no text whatsoever and i just had a kneejerk reaction. it's not who i am normally i owe an apology to all.
I've seen some of your posts, and they are good. Sometimes we go offside and have an attitude. It's not really acceptable, but we all do it from time-to-time.

I'm impressed by people who man up and show an honest apologetic attitude like you have done here.

Kudos.

Many people run sealed rooms. If you do run a sealed room you will need CO2. At 45% you should be fine. And at 45-50% there should be no mold. I run 55-65 with no mold but I vent. Good luck

I definitely agree about the venting, I'm moving out of this place in less than a year and my next location will be picked mostly on the growing factors and suitability, just for the ease of mind. So as for the lamps, should I go ahead and purchase 2 of these?

Thank god man, I was really getting paranoid there, I will never attempt another grow without being in a location that I can vent properly in.
What do you mean by CO2 exactly? Must've missed something during my research.

In a sealed room you need to add CO2 as the plant intakes that and expels O2. If unable to vent then this is the way to go. Keep in mind that to do this properly you will need to provide the mechanical means to keep the room at perfect conditions. This includes heating, cooling, humidification, and dehumidification. It can get extremely expensive and complicated! Better if keeping it simple to provide lots of ventilation and air movement imo. I have one fan/carbon filter and passive intake that works well.

Thx Waterdawg, I'm placing the order down immediately for those UVB's, I'm also getting a Carbon filter for one of my 6' Duct fans... now for another crucial question... Some plants will be ready before the rest, I'm gonna flush with FloraKleen a week before Harvest, will this be safe for the other non-bud plants? Muchos Gracias!
