Instead of investing in a different grow hood, I'd get a light meter.
That way you'll know when to change your bulbs and how much
light coverage your getting in all four corners. Merry Christmas :bigjoint:

I got a nice cheap iPower hood for my 600's, works amazing. Slide out glass instead of chained/hinged, but I am OK with that. Even when I had just a booster fan on it, temps dropped by a foolish amount...

I also prefer the flat glass to the curved glass of a cool tube.... I'm about to trade off my 2 tubes for a large hood for a 1k setup...

$75 after shipping, but if u monitor, sometimes it shows up a lil cheaper :)

I try not to use air cooled hoods anymore. Sometimes I'll use a blockbuster or radiant hood.

I use Gavita lights, unless the environment can't be kept in check.

Those lights look pretty bad ass been looking at the double ended hid how is the heat with those compared to regular 1000 watt??

I don't know, but I'm assuming the difference is negligible. If anything I would assume the gavitas run cooler. They also make 600/750 DE for smaller spaces.

That's what's up I really don't need two 1000 watts in my space, maybe I'll hold off and pick up two off those and try em out is the footprint on them good ???

Make sure you got high ceilings before investing in any double ended bulbs.
Jiji knows what's good with those gavitas.

I've had the 1000de's for a couple years, never used the 750 de's as they are pretty new. Not exactly sure their footprint, and I'm pretty sure Gavita doesn't like to directly answer that question.

They spread the light instead of focusing down, and Gavita says you should focus on light spacing and overlap for uniformity.

Heres a video of a rep talking about them at 6:30

The gavita 750s would work with your 8ft ceiling.
