Noobs Read This!!

I been growing for almost 8 years now and have been a member here for a long time. I don't' spend lots of time posting but today I decided to give a little advice to the noobs. I been seeing many post lately of new growers starting out and trying to not spend 1 Cent on their first grow. Now i know there are budget grows out there and I'm not talking about those. I'm talking about the people trying to use backyard dirt and bringing it indoors filing up a paper cup with it, dropping a seed and putting it under 1 23watt cfl in a cardboard box hoping to get buds? lol

I'm not trying to be a hater as you are free to do what ever you want but to help you get a little better results from a first time grow invest in a little money. Now when I mean invest i don't mean go spend tons of money on a whole line of nutrients or going and buying all new equipment. All you need is decent light system like a T5 Grow light or a few high watt cfl's. Next get some decent soil, remember the soil is your plants friend and without good soil you will get shitty results. If you don't' have a hydroshop near you go to your local Homedepot or Lowe's and get whatever u can get your hands on. While you are there maybe pick up a few cheap black nursery pots sizes 1-3 gallons. For nutrients if you have to use Miracle grow use it! Plain and simple this is your first grow get what you can but don't' go too cheap. The most important thing is do some homework and research before starting. Obviously for the people using cardboard boxes and foam cups haven't read any books on growing. Get your hands on some ebooks or read up on the forum there are tons of threads and post on here for a noob to learn the basics and more.

One more thing I want to discuss is dedication! Starting any type of grow takes time even a micro grow. Its not as easy as planting a seed watering and BOOM!! BUDS! Nope it doesn't' work that way and you always have to be prepared for the time and patience it will take to grow your first plant. If you start your first grow and fail, don't' worry we all make mistakes but to become a better grower you need to learn from those mistakes. If you keep doing the same old thing that caused the problem you will get no where.

Yep, I second that. It's not that hard if you do some basic research, and use some common sense. Light equals yield. Good soil, and a little feeding you can succeed. Good post for all noobs to read.

just remember. This is your first grow, stop fuckin with shit and go sit down. The third essential element other than light and water, is patience. give the plants what they need then leave them alone lol. honestly,
cfl's are a giant pain in the ass. You have to fuck with them to much, moving them around n shit. do your self a favor and get a
T5 setup or cheap Hps setup.
Just my thoughts

Total agree with you if you have the money buy a T5 light or a Hps. You will get better yeild and faster growth and save yourself some money in the long run.
If your only option is cfl's than do what you gotta do and work with what you got!

Hilarious thread, but solid. I have noticed noobs and even older growers tend to BF it to death; making it sound harder than it really is. I Remember my first grow. lol. I would sit and stare and the damn thing. It's just weed. But, thanks to all of those out there who have done the hard work in genetics, providing us with great seeds.

I also meant add that ... plants have been growing for millions of years with out our help...... quit screwing with them and leaving them alone is one of the hardest lessons to learn. and staring at them doesn't make them grow faster...... i know I've tried :D:roll:
