Advice on moving to California???

Well it seems that if I move to California, I will have to move to San Diego because that is where I can get a career lined up. So I guess my question is (instead of everyone repin' their areacode) how is San Diego's (1) cannabis cultivation law, how strict if this is a first time offense? (2) how hard is it to get a med card? (3) how is the nightlife and music scene, and people...is it a laid back vibe? Thanks for all the input

I think the cannabis cultivation laws are pretty similar throughout california. Probably get away with probation assuming your record aint too bad. And to be honest you wouldn't even have to worry about that, cuz you could get a card very easily. I'm sure you have some ailment that qualifies for the med script. I think the nightlife is good, I have spent a good bit of time in SD, used to date a girl out there, so I was there quite often and she took me around. IMO a good scene for all adult ages. Music of all kinds, and the people are pretty cool out there, very diverse population, and good folks for the most part IME. I thought it was a laidback atmosphere, but maybe that's because I'm a laid back guy.

I googled it. It just seems like NorCal is coming around to the same realization as SoCal has - The need to have a consistant limit state-wide.

So guys, this is the real question I have. How many plants can you grow on a license and what are the laws like allowing patients to designate caregivers to grow for them legaly? Assuming I have 4 guys how many plants could we grow in norcal while being within state legal limits?

The 'statewide' consistent limit of six plants. Last year it was 99 per patient here, then in the winter it became 25 per parcel of land, and now they are voting in six. I blame those who moved here to make money growing pot. Many of the commercial growers actually voted FOR measure b, since the sherrifs will be nice and occupied with mom 'n pop growers with 20 plants and leave those with 3000+ alone.

Why don't you work on getting your OWN locality's laws changed, instead of exploiting and destroying the ones that my community has been working on for years?

Thanks! That sounds like a good review. I'll keep you all updated if and when I decide to go out there. Not for like 6 months or more but still I wanna get as much research done before I make a decision. (Kind of like the right way to learn how to grow cannabis.)

I'm not trying to make money off of growing in California. But why should I risk my life, yes pretty much my life in my state. Whereas I can go to Cali and grow for my own personal use and send some back to people in my old state to smoke? I don't feel like I am contributing to the six plant rule. But damn I didn't know that it was now 6-plants, that is kind of low.

Every grow I risk going to jail, all so me and my brothers can smoke some good weed and chill and enjoy our evenings. Thats not suppose to put me in danger of going to jail for the rest of my life. I love growing, its what I want to do, the northeast is not going to legalize pot, and I need coast.

God, this is america man, anyone with the money to afford the property can go anywhere, and has just as much a right to "your" area as you do. I can understand the people who have problems with bums or mexicans or whatever is destroying your community but this "dont come here" attitude by the west coast growers is weak when all the dudes I know in norcal are like come on down and cool as hell.

Plus real estate is down, its time for us east coasters with some liquidity to get to freedom town.

I am not saying the statewide limit should be six plants..I am just saying that the state as a whole is trying to be more consistant. Anyone anywhere in the state can request a higher plant limit from their doctor.

Hello all. I recently live in a state where the cultivation laws are so bad, like so bad. I have only grown a couple times but already know that it is what I love to do. I was wondering if I moved to Cali in 6 months is it hard to get a card from a doctor to grow? I don't want to take away from people with serious problems and really need the cannabis, but it does relieve my stress and anxiety. Do you think it is a good idea to get up and go out west? I was thinking San Diego. Thanks for your insight.

IF you've got a job lined up, I think you might absolutely love sunny SD. It was one of my favorite places to live.

They are expanding public transport every year (the trolleys are pretty cool, just don't get run over by one), and Hillside is nicely decorated.
