I don't think it really matters to much i do find the humidity will rise if your lights are on but not by much myself i like to water before lights go off but if i don't have the time i just water when lights are on

it's not really a big deal if you ask me but each to there own all the best

I'm no expert but I would think unless you are getting the foliage wet, then it doesn't really matter.

dont listen to these guys. Everyone knows 4:20am is the optimal time to water. Thats why that number is so popular. Or take your chances and water when ever you want, thats a decission you will have to live with for the rest of your life.

I would suggest watering your plants at the start of their light period. This way, the top soil will dry out quicker, and you avoid mold and annoying bugs.

Agreed. I always water my plants just as the lights come on. So it's like they're getting breakfast just as they wake up.
