The image is OOF. I have an SLR with some cheap extension tubes on a cheap $150 lens that will take pretty amazing macro shots.

yeah, same with me jack.. i bought one of those 200x usb port microscopes, and before my puppy decided to eat it one day, i had the same issues.. seemed to me that the 200 x was just too powerful for what i needed and i got images like fin is getting, just too close and hard to get focused..
i prefer my 60-1oox from radio shack set on 60x to be a bit better to handle and keep in focus, although i haven't figured out how to get good pix out of it as of yet.. :(
yep, i've got the 420 scope, and i don't like to use the full 100x magnification. 60-80x is plenty for me.

I'm still trying to get it perfect. They look great, but I can tell that I can still get better ones. I've got a system worked out for moving the bud without touching it though (like a microscope slide) so just a few more practice runs and I'll be able to get crazy pics. I think I need a light, my apartment is kinda dark so the LED on the microscope is working all alone. This is the first place I have lived that didn't have lights in every room.

Then I'm getting a 1000x microscope soon also.

I am trying to figure out how to get it to take pictures again, for some reason it's only letting me do video right now.

You are freaking out about a Youtube video not being perfect. I am pretty sure if you have OCD, you showed it here. So that is not an off topic question.
A 'freak out' has more words. I was just pointing out the ineptitude of the user so as not to discourage others from getting an USB microscope.

and i sometimes use the high powered flashlight app on my phone to light up dark places for pix, might help in your situation as well..
