The Vortex plant I'm growing produces nanners that show up at around day 42 -usually right at the tip of each cola. I catch most of them and have only found one seed after harvest (sneaky bastard!). They scare me a little bit when they appear, but the smoke of this particular phenotype is way off the charts good and I feel that a few nanners are worth the risk for my personal use. The plant doesn't really produce a lot of buds, but the calyxes are freakishly huge and the thing goes through a whole array of stinky smells as it ripens. The last time I ran it, I let to go 70 days and it still showed a lot of clear trichomes. So, this time, I'm going to let it go to the point I see nothing but milk and amber. The smell/flavor is indescribable.
The funny thing about the Vortex is that another friend of mine said he grew it and had the same problem with nanners, too. I guess it's just a common trait of some of TGA's genetics -or so I've been told. Plants that produce nanners would of course be a disaster in a commercial operation…but, trust me on this…..I see a LOT of dispensary bud that has nanners. I see a few immature seeds, too. Ironically, they are also often the strongest and best-tasting strains of all.
Having grown for a short while now, I'm no longer as impressed by a lot of dispensary bud as I used to be.
