Yes.I'm guessing the 1.2 is meters and you are working in 4 dimensions?
loland you are working in 4 dimensions?
If you're not bothering answering the question don't answer yes I put too many dimensions, yes I'm high and well done for a useless commenthow do you mange that,
is this your grow room
terribly sorry to hear about your sense of humour bypass operationIf you're not bothering answering the question don't answer yes I put too many dimensions, yes I'm high and well done for a useless comment

no offence taken, but if you act all serious and moody about a little joke you will most likely find others will see you as an easy target to annoyNo offence mate but I go on a forum for information not too chit chat and joke about lol
Sorry man I did over react.no offence taken, but if you act all serious and moody about a little joke you will most likely find others will see you as an easy target to annoy
that is the nature of this form for the most part
when you ask questions, you should not expect the perfect answer, folk have no obligation to help you
if they do help you, see it more as a bonus
you might find "grasscity" more to your liking , those cunts over there have no sense of humour either
he's not going to get an equal yield using t5 over hps. t5 is great for veg, and i'll stand by that, but i still think hps for flower is the way to go. i do agree with you though, it is definitely a common misconception that you can't flower with t5. i've seen people produce beautiful results flowering with t5. some even say the quality is better than what hps can produce. however, it is pretty safe to say t5 yields less in flower than hps.So....to answer your question.....and I'm doing a Monday morning metric to standard conversion from my head, 1.2 meters is around 4.5'.
It's my opinion that 1000 watts is WAAAAAY of an over-kill and will most likely do your plants more harm than good. Since you're looking at only 4.5'-5' in height before adding a light fixture that will take up about 8" of grow room, and then another 10" for the container(s), you really should consider getting a four-foot 8 or 12-bulb T5 HO. It only takes up about 3" of height, will light-up your area well and you can play with bulb configurations to get the optimum PAR.
That and the T5's would run much cooler than a 1000w HPS set-up. Don't believe any nay-sayers that say you can't get good yield from T5's. Since you won't be growing any really tall plants to begin with, light penetration really doesn't come into play here. You'll be able to grow your plants much closer to the T5 than you would a 1000w light.
Nope,,MINE!how do you mange that,
is this your grow room
Cheers for your suggestions and advice however I don't have enough growing skill to pull off a good yield with T5's as well as I've invested in a 600watt hips already so think I'm gonna buy a 400watt and use both together as the 600watt on its own isn't seeming light enough as there is a few bushes in there shadowing a little bit and only really good intense light in 1 spot really! Brought a new hps bulb so hoping there will be a difference fingers crossedSo....to answer your question.....and I'm doing a Monday morning metric to standard conversion from my head, 1.2 meters is around 4.5'.

Good idea man, changed my mind again and gunna do 2x 600watt digital ballast and not have the turned up fullhe's not going to get an equal yield using t5 over hps. t5 is great for veg, and i'll stand by that, but i still think hps for flower is the way to go. i do agree with you though, it is definitely a common misconception that you can't flower with t5. i've seen people produce beautiful results flowering with t5. some even say the quality is better than what hps can produce. however, it is pretty safe to say t5 yields less in flower than hps.
anyways, for that size of a space, i'd honestly recommend 2x 400 watters. 1000w is a bit overkill but i've got a space similar in size to your's and 800 watts is brighter than you'd think. plus you'll get better light coverage with 2 bulbs rather than just one.
What kind of hood/reflector are you using? A 600 should cover that tent just fine.Cheers for your suggestions and advice however I don't have enough growing skill to pull off a good yield with T5's as well as I've invested in a 600watt hips already so think I'm gonna buy a 400watt and use both together as the 600watt on its own isn't seeming light enough as there is a few bushes in there shadowing a little bit and only really good intense light in 1 spot really! Quite right!Sigh.....I am no expert on lights, but have read enough from those that I consider pretty smart in the light department.
It's my opinion that your focus on a ton of wattage is mislead....especially in the confines of the area you have to work with. I actually did the metric conversion and you're working with less that a 4'x4'x4' area (1.2 m is 3.94') and a total of 1,000 watts will fry your plants.
As I keep telling my wife...."More isn't always better". While she disagrees (usually laughing and pointing) this is true about lighting. I suspect that my telling you this will not stop you from trying....but when you look at your burned plants not too far off in the future, please remember I told you so.
