please dwc help

I am about to put 4 plants into one of those pink hospital pans and try a small dwc and I refuse to use a pump because then its not dwc so how often would I need to change the water to avoid the DREADED ROOT PROBLEMS and just curious what are these dreaded root problems for dwc and if I'm only using chicken shit for nutes could I possibly add some mennos in there or would they suffocate from all the rootage and the fact that there will be Styrofoam on the op to help keep out light

Uhm well you're going to want to aerate the water. SImply changing the water out wont prevent root issues.

Why do you want to go DWC?

Seems like soil might be easier for you given your constraints.

If all I had to grow in was a pink hospital pan i'd fill the bitch with soil and call it a day. Assuming since you're using essentially a vomit pan you aren't going to spring the money for meters.

Do it proper or don't do it at all IMO.

Hydro = $$$

Ditch the pan, get a bucket, a net pot, some medium, an air pump and some hydro nutes along with pH up/down/test drops. These are the BARE minimums.

Tossing chicken shit into a pan of water isn't DWC.

your going to need a air pump and hydro nutes if your going to do DWC and if you really want to use your chicken shit you need to go soil. either way get rid of the pan in place of a pot or a bucket and read around the site some more...

Most times i think threads like this are from young kids or trolls , chicken shit in a bed pan ! Ive heard it all .

Imagine sticking your $200 blue lab into that stew .

I'm not understanding the joke I'm 25 and I've grown plants in more weird shit then that hell the clones are in plastic shot glasses now with coco peat And I've used a pencil box b4 2 was a bonsai fail tho I'm sorry u chose to make fum rather than help but my mind frame is grow these everywhere overgrow the country until the shit is out of control x 10 hell grow a tree in a tree

My text book I'm in college for horticulture furthermore once you start moving the water its now just basically regular hydro system

A text book? Seriously please dont come to a DWC forum claiming to be a dedicated grower and student when you have not even done the research or looked into DWC/hydro if you are considering not using a pump.

Thanx but I'm using my kitchen cabinets so no bucket space figure how I'm going to work this pump free hydro I want to rig up and probably use the water jugs I'm using for the soil plants

Dude how much more looking into it can you do than being in school for HORTICULTURE the SCIENCE of making PLANTS FLOWER and that's what we are shooting for huh so yeah you to eat a fat one if you're not going to help hell go on YouTube cause u probably are better there than class and then type dwc and see if you see pumps in the beds of whatever veggies their growing tata STAY OFF THE THREAD IF YOU NOT BEING POSITIVE

OK dwc uses no pumps but if this won't work what other options would one have to do a pump free hydro grow
