used molases and it backfired

i used molases and it gave me mold in my water partly my fault the fish pump was unpluged and the water sat for 2 days and now i got mold.what should i do i canged the water but theres still some mold still left will it hurt the roots im doin hydro. it was pretty extensive mold too i only got 2.5 weeks till harvast. i hope it doesnt hurt my plants as they are just starting to fatten up.

don't know bro.. I don't think you are suppose to use molassas in hydro... I did the same thing and the water looked like crap.

It's meant to be used in soil grows. But I hope things work out for you.

You have to dillute the molasses alot for hydro. You might try hydrogen peroxide for the mold problem.

didnt know u could not use it in hydro I KNOW I BEAT MYSELF FOR IT.but i flused the water a few times so i think im all set. no root damage thank god.

You should be able to physically clean out the "mold". Are you sure it's mold and not just some algae?

chances are its moldy mollasses but your flush will help at least no root damage. I grow in soil and my first grow i was using miracle grow potting soil, and didnt realize i didnt need to feed anything but water.So i burnt the hell out of em it was awefull just learn from it

Not being able to see it I can't say, but I will tell you this, mold is a sign of decomposition, algae is a sign of competition. Mold is worse than algae when you're trying to keep living things, unless the living thing you're trying to keep is, of course, mold.

Shouldnt use it in a hydro set up. Drain the res. and wash it with warm water and a mild soap. Rinse it out very good and start over with out the molasses.

Only a few more days? So, your bud might be ever so slightly sweetened by the molasses, maybe? Mmmm...
