hey man i got a question i got some regular lightbulbs 60 watts but it says it has enhanced color spectrum. I am curently using compact florecnt lights and i was wondering if i should add this to my grow room to help my plants. It's my 1st time so any info is very helpful

golie, the light-god has to be widow maker. If you have a question about lighting ask that man. he will set you straight in a matter of minutes.

umm i was wonderin when someone says that i should get a 100w CFL do they mean the watts in comparison to an incindencent lightbulb or the wattage of the CFL itself

No they are not worth the energy used as compared with cfls

I´m afraid u´re wrong bro there´re no 100w cfl´s, what u have equivalent wattage...

• 25-watt incandescent = 7-watt compact fluorescent
• 40-watt incandescent = 11-watt compact fluorescent
• 60-watt incandescent = 15-watt compact fluorescent
• 75+-watt incandescent = 18-watt compact fluorescent i think it goes up to 42w cfl and that´s about it...

As in reply for the incadescent bulbs -> DON´T USE THEM same goes for HALOGEN bulbs.......what u´re looking for is either Fluoros (tubes, enviros or cfl´s) or HID (MH, HPS or DUAL SPECTRUM)

golie34 if you try to compare cfl to hid you need to divide the advertised wattage by 3 so if you have a 100w cfl it would compare to 33.3w hid.what they are advertising is compared briteness to a normal bulb.
but the enhanced specturm blulbs are almost useless for this hobby.
