Should I go into 24 hours of dark before flower dry?

Did 24 hours of forced darness help speed the flowering process in your experience?

I've decided after reading and hearing from friends who grow that I want to put my girls in to 24 hours forced darkness before flowering. I'm ready to put them in tonight but it's also time to water. So I'm unsure if I should just put them into dark and water after the 24 hours, or water and wait until tomorrow? It doesn't seem like a good idea to me to water and put them in darkness because wet and dark equal fungus lol. So what's everyone's thoughts on watering before 24 forced dark into flower?

12-24 hours of darkness will ensure that the leaves have converted all their starch to sugars and then burned the sugars off as CO2.

I'll actually be less likely to mold after the starches are burned off. This gives you sort of a head start on curing.

I actually go for 72 hours w/o light but that's at harvest time. He is asking about going 24 hours w/o light at the flip which is pointless.

By dry I meant not watering the plants, I didn't mean after harvesting. Well from the growers I talked to they noticed a measurable difference in flowering times when forcing 24 hours of darkness before putting them on 12/12 for flower. In fact a couple friends of mine have taken a few different grow classes, and have had it recommended in more then one. I'm by far not the only one who has heard of or done this a quick Google will show you what I mean. I probably should have worded my question better and not included the survey, because my question wasn't about the 24 hours it was whether to water them before or not. But thanks for the replies.

Oh ok thanks for clearing that up, we were all lost lol

I do have a bubblegum from 00 seeds that I've been cloning for a while so I'm very familiar with her. She would be the best one for me to test this on. And it just so happens I have 2 clones that I'll be slappin in flowering in about 2-3 weeks, I'll put 1 straight into 12/12 as my control and the other in total darkness for 24 hrs as my test subject. I'll get back to you when I have my results.

I remember doing this about 10 years ago but I didn't really notice a difference.

Let me know how it goes for you.
