that is what it means "record postponement"..avoidance = postponement ..you can keep a log and not have to declare on a monthly basis as long as you report at year end. self-employed have to pay taxes monthly/quarterly..the IRS will allow you to keep that information from them but only for a short period of time..you see, they want all their money up front, (like the cable company) when it's due.. hence "avoidance"..not the best term by far and quite misleading as is @NoDramaI'm strictly speaking tax laws and definitions.
