Downward Spiral

I have two plants growing in coco coir. I am using Gen Hydro nutrients. They're both from seed (unknown strain) 1 month old. I have topped them once so far. My set up was pretty faulty at first and leaves on one plants got pretty burnt, but the plant continued to thrive, until lately. One plant started showing calcium deficiency so I watered with a little more nutrients than usual. The spots stopped showing up on the leaves once I did that. Then, a few days later - 2 days ago - I watered again, this time no nutrients. Today when I woke I noticed leaves were severely turning yellow to the point the first set of true leaves on one plant are crispy and damn near white. I did a little reading and discovered a common fix for this is cal-mag, but I do not own any nor have the means of getting any at the moment, so I watered.. again.. more nutrients. I'm kind of freaking out and wondering if they're going to recover. I cannot really tell if I have fixed the problem because the plants have few leaves and only the new ones are true green. Any feedback appreciated.. Thanks!

so your plants are a month old, and have few leaves? at a month, i'm usually into flower and a foot tall and very bushy. what you using for lights? you don't give many specific details. what's your ppm/ph? i grow in coco, and i never need cal-mag. use coco specific nutes, and you won't need it either. i wonder if you're allowing for run-off, which is key in coco.

They're 1 month old, 6 inches. they have 6 sets of fan leaves and 2 tops with all the pretty baby leaves coming from the inside nodes. I was using 2 23w CFLs per plant until 2 days ago I bought 2 more 23w CFLs per plant because of the super slow growth. I am unsure of ppm.. but I have been watering with varying ph levels - 5.5-6.5. When I water I use 1 gallon per the 2 plants (in 2 gallon pots) and get quite a bit of runoff.. probably 20% or so. I have never tested the ph of the runoff either.
I apologize for lack of detail, I've never posted a thread before. I'll include more info as needed.

Edit: Lights are overall about 2 inches from plant
