For many muslims "really" Jihad has everything to do with religion (muslims going for war against infidels), that's how it's practiced in practice. In theory it's as much about the inner battle with oneself and others to be a good muslim, which still has everything to do with the religion islam. So unless you don't consider Islam a religion, Jihad, especially the Jihad people talk about, has everything do to with religion, which too is used to enthrall populations, historically.

Plenty of muslim intellectuals and organizations recognize there are radical and dangerous flavors of and movements within islam.
but aren't they the largest religious in the world? and why don't more speak out about them to condemn those actions? what are they afraid of?

Yes, and continues to grow faster than any other. I'm thinking they're afraid of being abducted, tortured, and hideously killed by the extremists they would be speaking out against?

Second largest, about a quarter of the world's population opposed to nearly a 3rd being christians or claim to be...

I wish I could translate that left-winged TV show I mentioned in another thread, with the female dutch-turkish journalist. Posting the link of an excerpt for the record anyway, it's sort of trending topic here: http://dewerelddraaitdoor.vara.nl/media/331977 That's what an integrated muslim looks like. Hot brunettes. At some point she points with her thumb over her shoulder, that's when she's talking about taking away passports from certain people (kids traveling to syria) and kicking them back to her own country. There's also a left socialist black guy at the table who suggest to keep all that thousands of year old crap on the other side of the border... got to love freedom of speech, shows who the real nut jobs are.

Anyway, the main thing she talked about is muslims having to speak up and condemn the actions. Her father is one of the many Turkish people that were basically asked to come here to rebuild after WWII. Has never really been a major problem, they were always rather moderate, hard workers. After living here for 60 years he was asked by a neighbor whether he sympathized with the terrorists. He's thinking of moving back home, not specifically because of that question but because some muslims (like Moroccans) giving him a bad name. Yeah, that's pretty bad and sad. Yet, she, and many muslim organizations, as well as our christian centrum democrats, and many others agree that it is fair and OK to ask a muslim that question. Although the fact he needed to ask just shows how divided multiculti can be. Not only that, she thinks every muslim should speak up and denounce the attacks, not just in Europe, but even leaders in muslim countries.

It's typical for left to think they need to protect the underdog, even if that underdog represses and declits such beautiful females.

She fears for her life, that's what she said a while ago in the same TV show already. She received a lot of negative comments from left idiots after that, claiming she was exaggerated and sowing fear. And at the same time fears being assassinated by muslims for speaking against SOME of them (she would agree with my idealistic ideas of a free society where religion enslaves nobody mentally nor physically.) . Yup, that pissed her off, specifically the ignorance of dutch people, essentially white people stuck in jew vs nazi...

Imagine living in China and Icelanders start blowing shit up... some people will ask, many will look at you differently. Welcome to the real world.

Last night the parliament here had a long heated debate (one of the most heated, normally quite mild) about islam and terror... it's 11:50 on the doomsday clock. Classic debate, the leftie labor party accuses the anti-muslim party leader of being just like the terrorists, who retaliates with "only a sick mind can make up something like that". Fortunately we have more sensible parties in between those, but by making that comment Wilders gains enough votes for a seat extra in the polls. That's how polarization works, extreme ignorant left makes extreme right only larger.

What makes you think they are afraid? They aren't the ones going to hell. You are, gays are, bare-breasted women rising from the sea.

Shall we say, 300,000,000 for a round number US population. And you swear by polls and you trust Pew. So suck it up and read on.

2,4 Million is .8%? So, where does Radical Islamism come from? Muslim populations. So, if 1% of that are radical means there is already an army here. We know we grow radicals. They bombed Paris they said at the direction of an American we killed in Yemen (hey! what is that droning sound??) It is a myth I think and have said so. Muslims give money to the Mosques. The Money is kicked up to the Wasab in Saudi Arabia, eventually just like an organized crime syndicate, which it is, this Sunni Dominion. The Godfathers in the Wasbab sect, parcel big money back for more Mosques to shelter worldwide for operations.

Here’s what we do know: the polls show that Islamic extremism is on the rise. That’s not because it’s a fringe element. It’s because the West has swallowed multiculturalism wholesale, to the point where it’s politically unpalatable to condemn Islamic extremism for the mass rape of children.

So, here is the evidence that the enemy we face is not a “tiny minority” of Muslims, let alone a rootless philosophy unconnected to Islam entirely. It’s not just the thousands of westerners now attempting to join ISIS. It’s millions of Muslims who support their general goals, even if they don’t support the group itself.

France. A new, widely-covered poll shows that a full 16% of French people have positive attitudes toward ISIS. That includes 27% of French between the ages of 18-24. Anne-Elizabeth Moutet of Newsweek wrote, “This is the ideology of young French Muslims from immigrant backgrounds…these are the same people who torch synagogues.”

Britain. In 2006, a poll for the Sunday Telegraph found that 40% of British Muslims wanted shariah law in the United Kingdom, and that 20% backed the 7/7 bombers. Another poll from that year showed that 45% of British Muslims said that 9/11 was an American/Israeli conspiracy; that poll showed that one-quarter of British Muslims believed that the 7/7 bombings were justified.

United States. A 2013 poll from Pew showed that 13% of American Muslims said that violence against civilians is often, sometimes or rarely justified to defend Islam. A 2011 poll from Pew showed that 21 percent of Muslims are concerned about extremism among Muslim Americans. 19 percent of American Muslims as of 2011 said they were either favorable toward Al Qaeda or didn’t know.

In short, tens of millions of Muslims all over the world sympathize with the goals or tactics of terrorist groups – or both. That support is stronger outside the West, but it is present even in the West. Islamist extremism is not a passing or fading phenomenon – it is shockingly consistent over time. And the West’s attempts to brush off the ideology of fanaticism has been an overwhelming failure. (thanks to idiots like you)

So, just move along with the dirt kitty and feed him some nice lettuces.. Good boy.
your little army of radicals is failing spectacularly.

right wing extremists have a higher body count here in the states, and the states have the highest body count worldwide.

fuck, your own stupid poll shows that more muslims are concerned about extremism than think that violence is ever appropriate to defend their own religion.

off your fucking rocker.
