My mentor before my first grow told me that my plants would double in height during flower. That grow, my tallest plants were 3ft and barely added a foot during flower. Second grow the tallest started at 4 and barely made 5. Neither added much height at all after 3wks of flower with the harvest of these mainly indica plants averaging 67 days. Now, I do use MH bulb that I understand will cause less stretch than an HPS... and I am sure it is strain dependent. BUT It seems to me so far that this double/triple in height talk is BS and if it happened it would be grower error and hardly the standard people keep tossing around. What say you?

Personally, it varies from strain to strain. Some strains and cuts I get come with double/triple is height warnings from the respective growers experience with it.

If you are really on top of light height and your other main variables, you could be providing more ideal situations than the other people you have spoken with that had more stretch.

Were you and this person both referencing the same specific stain and cut/pheno?

If you're flowering with a metal halide bulb then try telling people that obviously know more than you they don't know what they're talking about the height doubling or tripling in flowering, you really do not sound like you have a clue what you're doing. You're asking people's advise on height during flowering and when they tell you their results, you say they're wrong or don't know how to grow when really you don't sound like you have a clue on what you're doing. I have excellent results under MH bulbs the answer to the ops question with lighting is pointless because its most likely strain dependent

What thread were you reading? You got little correct. Do you have anything to actually add? Even though MH is also not the main topic you will also find a number of others discussing its use. Sorry, my bad, I bought only 2 bulbs(one for backup) and was instructed to buy what I did. Its worked just fine. Being a newb, making sure I have the right bulb on the right day was not my biggest worry. Yeah, will get an HPS sometime in rhe future. Doubled my production with less plants in grow 2 without a bulb change. How the hell did that happen?

I wondered if anyone would pick up on that. Yes, I was using clones from 2 indica strains provided by him and when I confronted him about it he said that he exaggerated soas to make sure I stayed on the safe side.
