help! growing blue mystic in a tropical country ( 12/12) all year

Is it possible to grow effectively a blue mystic (80% indica / 20% sativa, according to the royalqueenseed bank) from seed in a 12/12 regime? i live in caracas (near the equator) and indoor growing is not possible for me. i wanted to try an idica cuz im tired of smoking colombian shit.

More sativa dominant hybrids plants do well around equatorial areas as that is what has grown naturally in areas like this. I've not grown that breeder specifically, but I tried blue mystic from another breeder and didnt have much success though my M.O. is to run them fully outdoors and if they dont survive whatever outdoor conditions I happen to have at that time of year then I scrap them. For instance I have run AK47, Durban Poison, Top44, TGA Chernobyl, TGA Dr Who, TGA Conspiracy Kush, TGA Quantum Kush, and some Rare Dankness stuff with success along with some other freebies which were hybrids. That doesnt mean Blue Mystic wont work, but thats a Canadian Seedbank so likely its more for those conditions. Hope that helps

There are no seedbanks in venezuela, i was in chile by christmas and bought them there, i saw the autos in the catalogue but by the time i was there i didnt no what auto ment

why would you run autos when you can grow some badass hybrids @Reza? Doesnt really make sense near equator for me though I do throw those freebies out

my thinking would be that photoperiod plants would be a problem near the equator as they go straight into 12/12. wouldnt autos allow for a little more growth before they flower as they arnt photoperiod?

i may be wrong just thought id throw it out there. plus you can get some good hybrid autos these days

Nope your wrong there. Its what I do year round....It actually ends up opposite of what you think. I have thrown out autos that end up as 3" plants compared to a normal sized photo plant

I don't know what to tell you beyond,"Try it and see". In 12/12, your plants may not get big. It is very strain dependent. Some will make a stick with a bud and others will make a nice plant. And it is not a Sativa/Indica thing. I have had sativas make a stick [one bud] and indicas make a nice bush.
I was gifted a Hawaiian....pure Indica....Did great in 12/12. Tropical sativas and indicas may do better in 12/12, since that is what they "evolved" with.
I would say to look at your latitude and pick from strains that originated in a similar latitude/elevation.

Autos don't like 12/12. You will get plants 4in tall. They want 18/6 thru their season.... Look at the latitude where ruderalis originated---arctic circle

but you get 6 weeks or so before they are mature enough to flower...autos don't wait that long.

Not all autos do that, as I found with Critical 2.0 Auto. It was actually a nice plant along with Super Lemon Haze Auto which did well too. Depends as well what the ruderalis is crossed with

no real gain in running autos if you are in equatorial region. 12/12 all year
photos will take 100-120days from seed.
Some tropical sativas will take longer....MalawiGold and Dr.Grinspoon come to mind

well ive been tracking the blue mystic origins, they seem to come mainly from thailand and afghanistan, it says they do well in mediterranean zones, wich is similar to where im growing them, very sunny during the day and foggy nights, i have the feelin they'll do well, they r beautiful right now they are only 2 weeks old but they look happy,i guess sometimes all they need is sun and love

que bien hermano, exito!.estoy en las afueras de caracas a unos 1500m de altura que es algo alto, no mucho, es bastante humedo en las noches pero es por causa de las lluvias que ya se estan acabando, ya esta comenzando la sequia y la humedad va a bajar para cuando esten florando me imagino, yo creo que van a sallir bellas, o al menos eso espero.

Acá la humedad es un pedo que nunca termina, y aún así salen tremendas. El sol del trópico es tan bueno como en cualquier otro lado.
