How tall are you letting them get before you flip? Ive been shooting for around 24 inches which gives me a plant around 50-55 inches when done. I know you are not shooting for the moon with a screen but I still wonder...

Correct!! October is when you need to be done outside. By the end of October it hits 16 degrees or there about.
