I thought I read that fish emulsion/other organic fertilizers would not burn the plants, but my flowering girl is getting yellow tips. I flushed just to be sure, but I had to ask.... can fish emulsion give burn? It is the only fert i'm using...

All fertilizers can burn/damage/KILL your plants if given in excess or are allowed to build up to toxic levels in the soil/medium.

How far along into 12/12 are you at this point? If you think she's had too much and you are at week 5 or beyond I would hide that fert bottle and only give her fresh pH balanced water from here on out/til finish

good luck

Firstly, Fish Emulsion and any Organic Fertiliser can 'burn' plants if you over-fertilise them, but that doesn't sound like your problem. Yellow leaf tips is not a 'burn' symptom, but a 'deficiency' and if you've only been feeding fish emulsion that's probaby why.

Fish emulsion is not a complete fertiliser and tends mostly to be used in Vegetative growth to 'stimulate and feed the soil micro-herd' and give a boost of Nitrogen. In flowering the NPK ratios change and you need higher P and K than N ratios and that's probably what's causing the yellow tips.

Seek out an appropriate organic bloom fertiliser to use in flowering rather than the fish emulsion.

^dude, thanks a lot.. i think you're completely right. This is my first grow, so I really can't read the plants well yet. Everything seems healthy other than the yellow tips.. I'll go get something high in P.

You're welcome.

Don't get something too high in P, it needs to be balanced otherwise you might lock out other nutrients.

Good luck with the rest of your grow.
