I'm running one 1000w light and temp is 90..I wanna add another light so I'm going to buy a new 8" exhaust fan that's 700cfm..my current ones a 260.

So I'm wondering how I would hook it up to the hood and exhaust it outside.. I just don't get it lol.. From what I've read it won't work can someone elaborate please..

Right now its sucking through filter and blowing outside ..

How can I have it suck from the hood as well as go through the filter and outside?

depending what hood you have you can go filter to hood to exhaust, just make sure the hood is well sealed so you dont get unfiltered air going to your exhaust,

That's exactly what I was wondering..
But will it suck enough ? How much ducting can I run with a fan like this

I wanna get this..can get it all in a day in the mail for 575

Good system ? They are out of 6" so I'll use reducer at shade and window

looks ok for the cash, the thing to remember is the longer you run ducting the cfm drops on the fan due to more resistence, the same with bends and also filter and lights, there is lots of info but a general rule of thumb is about 10% per light, 20% per filter then the ducting run, so you see allredy that 700 cfm fan is cut in half, then youve got to work out your area and what you need for that, as flash says the filter is not something to skimp on but you can allways run this and upgrade later, the other way is to run the small fan you have now just for the lights you know straight in and out,

you can run ducting as you want but defo over 3-5 metres you get a drop in cfm, alsoif you can only have one outlet then you could use a y piece to join the filter run and the lighting run if you were to do them seperatly

Okay so I've still not figured out how to do it lmfao..

I want it to go outside smell free so cozz will what u said work? Rooms 7x7x7 I want it to take heat from the lamp and take it outside..along with the smell lol.

Don't most people vent outside if they aren't using a tent ?? I don't get it lol

I'd say the filter would do the job, I use phresh filters, have used rhino pro, both are great, I've also used a cheap one from eBay that was fine in fact I keep it as an emergency one, how you said it would be fine as it's better to blow air over the lights as if you suck hot light air into the fan it can reduce its life, doing it this way does call for a good fresh air exchange to get the full benefit of cooling the lights, so depending on your rooms ambient temp you might want to go powered intake, or as I said before you could just use the small fan to cool the lights and your filter separate, if you can only have 1 outlet then you can get a y piece of ducting and join the 2,

So would a 400 cfm fan be strong enough to go

Filter-ducting to air hood- ducting to fan then to outside? Or would I just mount the fan to the other side of the cool tube then outside? Would stinky air be sucked in from the shade and go outside ?

Or should I drill a 6" or 4" hole and use the 6" 260 cfm to suck air from other room up to shade and leave the other side blank and use the other 6" 400cfm to filter it out ? And keep the hole in the door? Or would this be blocked off of I have a pipe going to the light ?
I don't really wanna run two fans but if I have to I will..

Thanks

No. Pulling hot air through the fan and its components reduces fan life. Put fan on the other side..... Pull through filter....push hot air through the hoods and outside
