Which type of hood shud i get? I want a 8 inch air cooled hood but not sure if I shud get one of the bigger metal hoods or get the smaller glass tubes? Which is better?

How should I scratch my balls? up and down or left and right?

Flat panes of glass distort photon/light movement less than round or curved glass... Cool tubes provide "easier" cooling, bare bulbs give the best lumen output... Find your "happy medium" to fit your needs.... 2/3 of growing cannabis is preference....

My first mistake is prolly going hydro. As a first time grower. But fuck it. I live in a legal state and lots of grower friends to help out

I have never used a cool tube but I do use a hood with insulated glass . I am very happy with it . I also grow hydro { flood and drain } . Don't be afraid . I have always grown hydro and have great results. Dirt growers say it is more forgiving but they are the ones always complaining about bugs and deficiencies of some kind.
A hood with insulated glass will allow you to get the light close to the ladies .

I'm happy with my Radiant 6, although it crowds the shit out of my tent, but I'm looking to the future and expanding the size of the grow. Why have you selected 8 inch duct, just curious.

I dunno. Shud i just go with 6 inch? 8 inch inline fans have higher cfm ratings

All boils down to how much air you need to move. You going with a large grow tent like 5x5 or larger? From what I can gather, the 6" 347cfm fan I have can be dialed the hell down for my 3x3. If you are planning full room grow, or multiple tents, or one big tent, 8" might be for you. Try to find an experienced grower on the forum with the size grow you are planning, and mimic them until you figure it out on your own.

I'm using a bedroom. 10 feet by 12 feet.

You have many possible grow configurations and so many possible exhaust configs for that space. I assume you are doing your research, so good luck. If you don't have a grow bible to help you plan that space, find a grower already doing something that size. Sorry, I can't really gauge your level of growing. Also that size room is out of my element, so I can't really help you there. Good luck bud.

Get the 8inch if you can, you can use a speed control switch on it. A 6 inch will do that whole room. Is this just a hobby grow? Frozenchozen nailed it.
