so u wanna conect ur outtake to the hood of your light thats what im getting from this post so u can suck heat out ?Hm ok..would a 260 cfm be good ? Room is only 6 ft wide.. If its not good enough I'll get a new one that's 440 cfm..my intakes my door ATM
The 8inch fan would be better, 6 inch should still be ok now when its colder during winterHm ok..would a 260 cfm be good ? Room is only 6 ft wide.. If its not good enough I'll get a new one that's 440 cfm..my intakes my door ATM
Will this be ok with 2 slight bends and 5 ft of ducting so I can have the fan somewhat away from the window or whatThey 8inch fan would be better, 6 inch should still be ok now when its colder during winter
when its hotter outside during summer you might find you wished you had just gone with the 8 inch
yes that is how most folk do it when using just one fanhttp://www.growweedeasy.com/sites/growweedeasy.com/files/hid-grow-light-mh-hps-exhaust-setup-diagram-simple.jpg
Acorrding to this this is how I should do it? Suck warm air Into filter through hood and outside ?
yeh you can put a fair bit of ducting on the fans that is what they are designed for they can push/pull air through much more than 5ft without losing too muchWill this be ok with 2 slight bends and 5 ft of ducting so I can have the fan somewhat away from the window or what
Okay would u suggest a 6 or 8 either way I have to reduce it to 6 at window..or squeeze the ducting to make it fit..off to bed reply in am thxyeh you can put a fair bit of ducting on the fans that is what they are designed for they can push/pull air through much more than 5ft without losing too much
So do u suggest taping and sealing it offFilter>Fan>hood>outside. blowing thru the hood causes a slight positive pressure which will cause any leaks ur hood might have to push back into room.
Okay maybe I will just run some extra ducting ..8-6 will be fine right.i would still go with the 8 because its not much more expensive and it moves a fair bit more air
the more powerful 6 inch (turbo) fans are noisy , the 8 inch is pretty quiet for how much air it moves
If your going to have 2 fans soon then u may aswell use one to control temps/humidity/odour and 1 to cool the lights with its own fresh air supply

The carbon filter is ducted to a fan above the ceiling (sucking hot humid smelly air out of the room). The ducting on the left is connected to a fan above the ceiling blowing cold air through the cooltubes (as pictured below).

The ducting then continues to outside the room. This is the most efficient way of air cooling a bulb because ur cooling it with cold air as opposed to trying to cool it with hot air.
Hope this helps mate
This is the inside of the door..I think it would be difficult to run 6" ducting through the door and to the lights.. I also won't be able to vent it from the lights outside beside it will smell won't it?.. Or just cool air through the hood and out stay sealed and smell free ?.. If I use two fans.. I'll have to go through the concrete and make a 6" hole. You still need a passive intake to ensure that co2 and oxygen are replenished. This intake should be about 2x the area of your exhaust. Example: 8inch exhaust diameter - 16 inch intake diameter.
If you have an active intake then it should be roughly half the diameter of the exhaust. This factors in the loss of airflow due to the filter and still ensures your room will run at negative pressure.
Example: 8inch exhaust diameter - 4 inch intake diameter.
You can pick cooltubes up quite cheap at the moment, you want a 6" cooltube for a 1000w bulb.
I don't know what ur light is so it would be impossible for me to say if u could modify it. You could put another hole in the door and run ur ducting from that to the fan then through ur hood then duct out into the same space your exhaust goes. But you will need to make another hole.
got the same setup, but i set my carbon filter on the exterior side of my grow room. I'd agree w/Mr. mustache's feedback -
Not sure to go with 8" or 6..anyone here using an 8" ? With a 7x7x7 Like me.got the same setup, but i set my carbon filter on the exterior side of my grow room. I'd agree w/Mr. mustache's feedback -
