6th Official Party Cup Grow Competition!!!!!!

Here it is folks! You've patiently waited, and now you may officially start your seeds!



Don't forget to abide by all the rules! Remember, the winner of this one has to host the next! I'm ready to win another!

Here is the basic outline of the comp. For those involved with the last competition it is very similar.

• 1st post or germination post must contain the following: strain name, nutrients used, light source used, media used and germination date (day of sprout)
• Germ date and strain name must be written on the cup by first post.
• Party cups (16oz 473ml) only, no other sizes permitted or transplanting PERIOD.
• Roots must be confined inside the cup any roots outside the cup is automatic DQ
• Any Indoor light source allowed- no changing light sources once started (with the exception of a burnt out bulb). No Sunlight
• Participants, registrants, host, and sponsors may vote on winner(s)
• Start from seed only. No Clones
• 12/12, 11/13, 13/11, the entire time = No Veg time
• Start a maximum of 5 seeds total, keep only 1 female plant for entry once sex has shown for all (5).
• Germination window begins 2-1 and ends 2-28. No exceptions
• weekly updates mandatory with picture(s) or you're DQ'd

Hydro, DWC, automated watering, soma style and any other non-standard, non-dirt type growers:
All the above methods are fine as long as your roots do not grow outside the confines of your cup. Trim your roots from growing out side the cup or be DQ'd (you may be subject for a picture in between weekly updates to confirm there are no roots growing outside the cup). Any suspected cheaters will be held against a community "tribunal" for "judgment"
82 unique users minus myself, and sponsors with an RIU user name have replied to the registration thread, and will be considered participants.....

Just to be ENTIRELY CLEAR:
You may only have one entry. EVEN IF YOU HAVE MULTIPLE ROLLITUP.ORG SCREEN NAMES! Users who think they can cheat the system are poorly misinformed. If you are caught cheating in any manner, you will be disqualified from this competition, and possibly future competitions.

im not sure I thought germing was its own method then when it sprouts you put it into some soil?

Same here, I need to clear out my shower so I have a lightproof area to 12/12, and I'm a lazy bastard, so it will be a week or two

I don't want to be a stickler, and I'm not trying to get you in trouble, I'm trying to help, honestly. But those look (to me) like Hefty Easy Grip cups which are 18oz, not 16oz. If those are allowed, I would love to know because the 16oz cups I found are pieces of shit, but I avoided the other ones (Like Hefty) because they were all 18oz

I only noticed because I had ALMOST bought them before I notices the size. The only 16oz cups I could find wound up being these pieces of junk, they are paper thin and crack the second you squeeze them at all, but they are 16oz haha, so if I can' find one of those nifty 16oz hard plastic souvenir cups I see people posting about, these are probably gonna be it. Unless of course the Hefty's are allowed, in which case I'm heading back to the store tomorrow hahaha

I'll just give a little germ update on mine since clearly they haven't even cracked yet(added to cups of water at precisely 1:55 AM "Alaskan standard time") but all have sunken to the bottom by now so hopefully they all crack come tomorrow morning and then they're off to their respective moist towelettes for a day or two... Or three. Then finally they'll be sowed just as George Washington would have wanted.... In a 16 oz solo cup of course!

I found a 100 pack of Hefty 16oz cups at walmart, 4 different colors too so nice for seed starting without need of labels.

Go look by the non-disposable plates and cups at walmart, you will find the insulated party cups in 16oz. They won't work for me as I'm going DWC and need to cut a hole in the bottom.

I think the problem is I'm in a small town without a Walmart, but I'm gonna go hunting at Target this week. At least I have the Sensations as backup.
