What is better for cloning, gel or powder? Also is one brand better then another brand or all the gels and powder are the same?

They both work just as good

Its pretty much the users preference

I have both of them , powder and the gel

the powder is just cheap rooting powder from wal mart

and i got rootech gel that i bought off of ebay

i got them both because i was wanting to know which was better also

but after using them , they both work pretty much just as good as the other

i believe the gel has a higher concentrate of rotting hormone in it though

and the powder last longer then gel

but either one is just as good as the other

Just my opinion

I use willow water... I have 3 willow tree's in my front yard, since it's the same hormone as whats in the powders and gels and it's free; I go with that. So I can't really say from experience, but from what I've heard clonex is pretty good.

That Green Light rooting powder is available for dirt cheap at places like walmart or OSH.
Doesnt expire. Makes roots.

It's all the same stuff!

Powder is what I really like, just wet and dip and your done. In the greenhouses this is used all the times, close to 100% catch. Heat and high humidity guarentees everytime.

And one bottle of the cheap stuff will last you a life time.

i used that sameone from wal mart!!! Although my cutting didnt root!!! I think it was not strong enough to survive or root... when i lst'd my plant, one 3 inch cola was falling behind so i decided to cut it and try to clone it, but it didnt work...

I did a test last year between clonex gel and hormex rooting powder #8. 12 clones each. All the Hormex clones survived and thrived. 1 clone struggled for a couple days but bounced back. The Clonex had 9 healthy clones. 2 wilted pretty bad and never really came back healthy. 1 struggled and came back pretty strong. In addition I saw roots about 3 days sooner with the Hormex rooting powder than the Clonex gel. The Hormex roots were pretty significant in comparison. After 4 weeks the Hormex clones were about 1/4 taller and quite a bit fuller than the Clonex. They also just looked healthier. I can't find the pictures I took otherwise I'd post them. Both good products, but I think I'll stick to the powder. Hope his helps.

I don't use a powder or gel . I clone in a bubble cloner I made myself and just use tap water that is PH'd . This pic is at 21 days . I just make sure to make clones well before I need them .

What strain is that? With pure power plant, I was able to consistently get roots in less than a week without any hormones, but with cinderella 99 from female seeds, It takes weeks to get roots even with a rooting hormone, and many die.

My pic of my clone is FLO .
I start to get roots in 7 to 10 days but I like to let the roots grow a bit and I get a nice fat stem happening .

I use Aloe Vera plants. They have rooting hormones in them and they are also antibacterial and have vitamins in them. Thats why they heal a burn fast. Just cut open a "filet" of Aloe and use the clear gel inside to coat your stem just like the clonex gel. One Aloe Plant will keep your clones awesome and they are good if you get stoned and burn yourself with your joint.

I don't use any rooting product. Just use rock wool and tap/well water and have had very few losses and usually only takes a week or two for roots.

Every time I've used a humidity dome or rooting products I have had problems with stem slime.
