CFL equivilant true meaning

I bought this bulbhttp://plantitearth.com/whats-hot/agrosun-32w-compact-fluorescent.aspx and hang it directly above my 2 week old plant like 1 inch away. It says it only consumes 32W of power but gives off 150 watt equivilant is equivalent to a 150 watt halide, so what is that equivalent to an hps ???? Also is this a good bulb and how would it rate up against 4 of those t-5 long bulbs based on growth rate?
They are either lying or mistaken in that description, a 32w CFL that puts out 1800 lumens is equivalent to a 150w incandescent light, not a 150w MH. A 150w Metal Halide lamp actually puts out about 14,000 Lumens, almost 10x the CFL.

So 4 t5 (24w cfl) lamps are better than my 1 32w cfl??

of course.

CFL are always equiv of the old incandescent light bulbs ( the old one with the wire between that breaks when the bulb goes out. So a 23w CFL will give off the same as an old 100w bulb, but only use 23w instead. Making it more efficient. Thus you can run 4 of those bulbs to equal one old incandescent bulb. CFL/T5/T8 will never get you to the intensity of an HID bulb ( hps/ mh ) I moved from a 300w CFL setup with 16-23w CFLs to a 400w HPS and couldnt be happier. No more bulbs to adjust all the time.

What amazes me is that it's not even the OP's mistake, it is straight up what the website says. It's not just misleading, it's a lie.
"This low wattage light is a great way to bring plant-available light to your home. These compact units provide 1800 lumens of usable light to your plants. The 32 watt Agrosun CFL is equivalent to a 150 watt halide, while staying cool and efficient. This lamp fits into a standard light socket, and can fit in any standard fixture, perfect for homes with little natural lighting."
They literally expect you to have no idea how much light a 150w MH puts out.

CFLs are 60-70 lumens per watt. A new T5HO is 92. It will go down over time.

You can get Cree LED "lightbulbs" from Home Depot. They're in the 90-100 lumens/watt range. I use them for sidelighting.

I'm flowering a very large bushy plant under 6 Cree 18w PAR38 spotlights (from Home Depot, $24 each) and 5 Cree 9.5w lightbulbs for sidelighting. First time I've flowered entirely under these Home Depot lights. So far so good. This was taken 2-3 days ago:

Growing dwc technoflora starter "kit" series GH.... This is grow #10 so im very knowledgeable about dwc, prob just got to close to bulb. Im growing blue cheese barney's and website says it don't like "hot climates". Maybe this bulb got mid 80's when it was closer than 1 inch away, is that possible??

are the leaves cupping up or down? if they are down it is nitrogen. if up then it might be heat.
