It was nice having Al's help but he wasn't the only one Filhyfletch is an excellent hydro grower as well .
Al was only hitting 1.5 g's because he had serious humidity issues where he lost good chunks of each harvest from blight , if he had dryer conditions he'd of been well over 2 g's .
When you tried my flood & drain/ areoponic style what were your watering times , ive had tons of hydro growers try n convince me watering for 15 minutes once an hour was too much & would cause root rott or over watering .
The main reason i water once an hour is root zone temps , the space between the panda plastic & table gets hot fast being no medium is in the table , when you water every hour with 60 to 65 degree rez water the root zone stays under 72 degrees at all times , above 72 you get slimey roots .
Did you water every hour round the clock ? Or did you use a different schedule ?
One of these days im gonna take the time to write up a start to finish picture tutorial showing my flood/aero hybrid system built from scratch , doing flood & drain with no medium makes turn around time instant from no clean up .
No doubt. I followed what you guys and ABF and some others(someguy15 helped me out a ton, but he no longer visits forums) had to say when I first started. Read thru potroasts hydro sticky as well. So to see you two broing out in my thread is great! You guys dont use Als 4 day drying box?
When I tried your style(which I didn't know until recently you do it that way) I was a complete noob, I did F&D from 10/11 until like 11/11, I was underferting back then as I followed that plants dont need nutes until 3 sets of leaves BS, I switched to DWC soon after I started hydro.
I think I was doing every 4 hours just enough until it hit the overflow as this was what i read on Al B Faqt and no only during lights on, last water was an hour before lights off. Was using lava rock at the time so it held onto moisture more than 'ton.
How do you support your plants with no medium? I do low pressure aero for my clones and now started doing it for seedlings too with neoprene collars. Ditching rockwool was the best move I ever made. I couldn't get good with the stuff. Did Al's weighing of the cube, start at 5g and add water until 25g. Was tedious work, but I figured it worked for him why not me.
Im looking to ditch the bubble buckets and finally use that table I bought 3 years ago, i'd be interested in that tutorial. Though im sure I can make F&D work now.
