Thank you for the offer , my days of large grows have come to an end ( For Now ) im just doing small personal tables now , i got into legal mmj when Mich 1st adopted the program , stayed for 5 yrs , saved up & put a few pennies away & got out before they started closing even the co-op's down .

We've got the family business to loose plus our summer & winter homes , it just felt like had i stayed any longer i'd loose it all even though i worked 100% within the law & had a union job for 32 yrs .

If Mich's dispensary laws end up where its 100% legal to profit from dispensing i'll open up another shop quick & give you a holler , right now its like we went to vegas , knew when to leave & walked away winners legally .
That's a neat trick- you've every right to be proud of the decision and its outcome.

Its good you know the ins and outs about the law. I'm sure I'll learn from you on the hydro aspect. I have the the organic part covered. I think a good hydro organic garden is a good mix perhaps a demonstration on aquaponics also. I like fish.
I learned sea of green from Albfuct & have wanted many times to do a picture tutorial of the entire process , from training the mothers to produce heavily noded branches , clone selection , how to turn a flood n drain table into an aeroponic flood table , plant spacing within the table , geothermal reservoir's , how to use inline fans in a push pull configuration where 600 hps are so cool plants can touch the glass all thru their life without leaf burn , zero veg & 3 ounce colas the whole bit.

I gotta get a new pc that takes floppy discs 1st , my digi camera is 1st gen & uses discs that i allready have pics of how to open the breaker box & install dedicated lines to the grow where no extension cords are used , ive got the pics on training mothers & clone selection & thats where my pc took a dump , im thinking in the spring i'll grab a pc so i can finish the picture part & start writing the instrucional part & show how to make the geothermal rez that dont need a chiller .

I'll get it done when the weather turns nice , right now its so cold i dont want to use the workshop or even leave the house , for sure this spring a real pic tutorial is comming to the hydro section , hopeully i can make it a sticky .

I'm sure we would work together nicely Providing you don't let the cops in.
That's funny- why would I feel the need to remain in an adversarial mindset, now that things are so different? Their job is, putting it simply, to go looking for trouble and put a stop to it. I'm not trouble, I have my certification and my plant count and I'm well within it- no trouble here.

They saw that, and they left- to go looking for trouble, which is their job. A job, by the way, that I fully support. We have a growing heroin problem here- not to mention a raging methamphetamine epidemic. THOSE crazy motherfuckers are serious trouble and I want the police free to deal with them. Thus, I'm here to make sure the police understand that they don't need to spend scarce resources dealing with me- so they can go after the real problems in our community.

If that's not a cop's job, then what the Fuck are they there for? I don't want to deal with people like that- and believe me when I tell you that I've had my run-ins with them!

These are still very early days in the grand experiment of cannabis legalization in our society. If we are to make it stick, we need to convince people that we growers and tokers mind our own business and don't hurt anyone- cops included.

So yeah, we might get along fine- just let me do the talking when the cops show up.

Whatchu talkin about willis? Do you know more people die from blunt force trauma than shootings.
Im saying that just because a small minority of gun owners are wreckless and dangerous with firearms doesn't mean they should be banned and just because a few growers start fires doesnt mean growing should be banned. If you shoot someone you pay the consequences. If you start a fire due to negligence, or because of your own stupidity you should be held responsible for your actions. My point being is that it is possible to safely grow in an apartment and those who are able to do so safely should not be penalized or banned from cultivating their own medicine.

I'm sorry man I just don't get it. It wont happen here google Bill schutee thats our AG
I do get that. This is a very different and progressive place to live- a fact that in itself doesn't sit well with everyone, even here. Some people would much rather be told what to do, it's easier. I'm not suggesting you're one of them, but recognize that it takes thought, effort and an ability to navigate nuance to handle such shifting terrain. A lot of folks just don't like to think that hard.

I find myself in a position of leadership and advocacy in my community on this issue. I could use it to deepen divisions in our community, but I'm consciously trying another approach. After all, they went more than halfway with me, considering they certainly did find me with more than twelve plants.

I really want to give full legalization a chance to work- on both sides of the cop/citizen divide. It's going to take trust and a willingness to recognize when they're trying to exercise restraint- and give a little too.

The alternatives as I see them are grim; chaos or fascism. Having seen both firsthand (elsewhere), I think a little conciliation isn't too much to ask.

I see your point, and it's valid. We are making progress here, even if they're baby steps.

Caved?! Da fuk?

If you insist on treating the police as adversaries instead of advocates for peace, they'll return the favor. I guarantee they're better trained and armed than you are.
All the more reason to keep them out of my house.

In michigan I can walk around all day with a hand gun in the open. Apparently it costs money to putt under your coat?

When i 1st set up the large co-op grow i did everything in my power to beat the cops to the punch .

I wired everything one step above code , used dedicated lines to each run with a gfci at the end of the runs & afci's at the breakers .

Mounted all the ballasts outside the room with 6 inches air circulation around the mounted ballasts , used a fire break over top of all the ballasts as well as a ceiling mounted automatic fire extinguisher, no extension corrds to overheat , all fans wall mounted , fire retardant material over cieling & mini fire extinguishers over the light hoods , rez's burried 90% below grade to prevent flodding & fire extinguisher for every ballast & one outside the room , complete control of room & ballast area temps & humidity .

I called in the city building inspector & pulled permits for all the work & had it all signed off after completion , then paid to have the fire marshall do an inspection of the facility before i brought in a single plant , he signed off on the fire saftey prevention planning & gave me congradulations .

When cops tried getting in using saftey violations as an excuse i had about 30 pages of paperwork showing i was above compliant in all building codes & above fire saftey minimums , they fumbled round a bit then asked nicely if they could come in , had to tell em no way hose a cause they were diks to start with .

I love watching them walk away pouty .
that's your consolation for them having your brain drop a whole lotta epinephrine.

Just curious but what was their reason for the visit? I feel like I know quite a few growers in Colorado who have had police show up at their residence for some reason or another.

ive grown in apartments before in an illegal state and never once had a problem. 600 hps in one tent and T5 in another. Plus i know several growers in Denver that do as well without any problems.
i think approach and mindset make a difference..i'm in an apartment with dedicated bathroom that is surrounded by my own space, meaning none of the bath walls touch a neighbors..like permanent tent. 1000MH/HPS, fans, scrub and fan. * ona breeze at the front door.

mindset like it's a business even if for personal..make sure you're not entering neighbor space with anything..sound, smell.
