Blimburn AK, slow upward growth? Or am I worrying for nothing?

So i started a Blimburn AK auto about two and a half weeks ago. The plant grew 1/3 of an inch since last week sitting at about 1 1/3 inches. It is starting to grow its true leaves, and they are starting to come in more and more. But I had a friend raise concern that at two weeks it should be double to triple the height it is now. I recently took it from starter cup to 3gal pot last wed. So that could have been restricting growth, I guess I am posting this a little prematurely, but looking at some 5 week plants they are almost a foot to two feet tall...maybe i will start seeing a stretch this coming week?



Possible contribuiting issues:

Low humidity, my room sits around 16%, i know that is terribly low but I live at 9000ft so humidity is kind of a problem for everyone i know.

Heat, I have to run two oscillating fans to keep the room below 80. This contributes to the low humidity.

No exhaust, I dont have an exhaust so my plant is sitting in a closet and the door stays open 100% of the time. Dark hours it gets closed and is 100% dark. But since im running 24hrs that doesn't matter a whole lot right now.



The light is sitting about 18" away from the top of the plant, so should i maybe raise the light to induce stretch?



Other than what seems to be stunted growth, the plant looks healthy.

Why do people grow auto's indoors? Not trying to be a jerk, just seriously wondering?

I mean, you've handicapped yourself with a plant that is on a time limit, so if everything doesn't go exactly as planned, you have no time to recover from mistakes. You will get less yield. And you've got a plant crossed with Ruderelis that has little to no THC. I can't see the reason to do this indoors, only outdoors where you need to harvest quickly. You compromise and give up having control of when it flowers and finishes, get a smaller yield, and less potency to gain speed outdoors.....but indoors, you control the speed of finishing by controlling the light.....so why? I'm really curious, it's all cons and no pros that I can think of.....unless you are growing outdoors, then those compromises may be worth it.

I chose an auto because a) it was a freebie
b) this is my first grow and I figured try something that is basically idiot proof. (Autos)
c) get a test run in my current environment before I throw $80 worth of seeds into it.

Basically trying to cut out as much monetary risk as possible.

Auto's are the opposite of idiot proof, one mistake and you can fuck up the entire harvest

This is so true. Auto's take more skill to grow well, not less. They are not forgiving at all. I don't see why more people don't realize that. For some reason, they believe that growing autos is easier.

Not to mention, if even if everything goes well, you've still got less yield and less potency. But, whatever floats your boat, I guess.

I wasn't worrie about potency, or yeild. What I have read is that the rudiralis very tolerant plants. Also they require less nutes, and essentially less care. Like I said THIS IS MY FIRST GROW, I HAVE NEVER GROWN BEFORE. THIS WAS A TEST RUN TO TRY IT OUT. It's ok dude, chill, don't get mad. I'm just saying, autos for your first grow is the probably the worst thing you can do. But, if it's what you want, then fine. They don't forgive....you make any mistakes and they are not going to give you any time to recover....when the time limit is up, they are gonna be done, regardless if you are ready or not. My apologies, the auto seed was a freebie. Sure it's the same price but Ide rather ruin this than something I actually paid for.

Due to the shorter life cycle and "autoflower" I won't be able to recover or force it any bigger as with a photo I could just leave it in veg and let it stretch to increase my yield so essentially I'll probably end up with a maybe foot tall plant low yield if anything? Or could this plant still take off and blow up in the next two weeks or is that unrealistic? I've seen total harvest time of the 10-11weeks. I guess if it's 2-3" right now what can I expect or should I just throw in a couple of my photos and let this plant finish whenever it decides to?
I was going to wait till she was 5 weeks so that when I switched light cycles for my photos my auto would essentially be done. But it's not a big deal now because right now everyone is basically telling me to scrap the auto I'm fucked for yeild lol

It does seem small not sure if autos grow in veg slower or not but I just put a Dr Kipplings Incredible Bulk seed in soil 2 weeks ago and its over 8 inches tall 3-4 nodes

Yes...that's exactly what I'm saying. That's why I hate to see new growers starting with auto's. If you under feed it, or over feed it, you can just veg a bit longer and still get a great harvest with normal seeds. All the mistakes cost you is a bit of time. With an auto....well, you know the deal. Spend a month under or over feeding or watering and you are just screwed...no time to recover. That's what I meant by Auto's are unforgiving, they don't give you any time to correct mistakes.

Sorry if you thought I was giving you a hard time, I was actually trying to help you. It's easier to grow seeds that let you control when and how long they veg and flower. Mistakes will happen, but you just fix the mistake and grow them a bit longer.

most auto's have little ruderalis in them ........ really think about it lowryder which is the starting point for most auto's was prolly around 25% after stabilized and then crossed with a photo plant down the line to make a new strain that was also stabilized to lock in the auto trait <~~~~ just the trait .... ohh and also was bred for potency or whatever the breeder was after ....... we are talking 5 generations or so ..... but wait remember that the lowryder was also bred and stabilized over many generations >.> see what im getting at here ...... just because your great great great great yaddaa yadda etc etc grand father was black and the rest of your familiy is white doesnt make you black 10 generations down the line

No offense taken, at first that's what I though. But now I do understand. I'm gone for a couple days so hopefully I'll see some substantial growth when I get home!
But I will post pics and hope that it grows. But I will be throwing either bbxww or strawberry cheesecake in this week and see what happens

That's what I understood from reading about them. I won't be running autos all the time regardless but I think it is good to try it

I'm growing one myself. The freebie from TSSC. I've got six girls going in my 3x3 tent and still have room for three more. I've noticed slow growth with that an auto as well but she sure is catching up just fine after I introdu Jamaican bat guano. I also replaced my hps with an led and man things are taking off. Have you tried any of the strains from 7 dwarfs? They are great and the gigantes strain ( white widow) that I'm growing two of are doing the best. Four weeks after germ and they are short and bushy as hell. They just started flowering in the last two days and smell dank as hell. Try em out and keep me posted about ur AK. I'd like to compare some pics of your AK and mine. I germed her on the 29 of January.

Also man if you get some exhaust fans like one online fan to pull the air out of your tent you'll be able to keep your temps down. You need an air cooled light or just get an led and introduce humidity into your space by getting one of those humidifiers like your mom would've put in the room when you were a lil kid. They are like 10-20$ and produce a shitload of humidity.
