What will the internet be like in ten years?

The White House and media are trying so hard to convince me that the FCC takeover is a good thing for me that I just don't believe it.
Why do I have a sinking suspicion that one day I'll tell my grandchildren that "I remember when I could say virtually anything I wanted to on the internet"

I just told my Dad. "You know what? Say what you want about potheads, but there are some pretty smart people on this website" :)

So what's your guys' take?

IMO there would have to be a major war for the US government to claim censure rights over material on the net. Wars make the constitution irrelevant.

In ten years people will be like "remember when those fuckers at Comcast used to slow down my Vonage calls and make them sound like shit to try to get me to switch to their own crappy VOIP service?" or "Remember when those fuckers at Comcast tried to slow down NetFlix and reset all my BitTorrent connections because they wanted me to use their own crappy on demand movie service?"

If you watch Netflix on SONY equipment, they make the connection go through SONY servers instead of directly through Netflix servers. That creates lots of problems and slows down the connection. You surreptitiously agreed to it when you plugged in your equipment.

Net Neutrality does nothing to solve that problem.

Net Nutral needs to be paid for- you the net user will need to pay-
Ten years all cable will be gone-
Free wi-fi everywhere from that floating geo-sat
Oh yea, free except the Net Nut tax-

You wont need the net though-
No water out west-drys up further-Lake Mead/Powell/ etc go dry- no power generated-Nukes are going off line-
Not enough Solar to take it's place-Good Luck-the grid will go down-not just in the west-but everywhere in the USA

It's the end of reality as you know it-

The Internet has been fixed so that is will NOT change. Your mind has been misled by propaganda on this subject.

The FCC acting enables the Internet to stay exactly as it is now . . . But you know . . . 'Obamacare for the Internet.'
