What's up fellow growers this is my first grow and I was hoping to get some opinions and tips on how things look... Here's what I got
Bought 5 (Got 5 freebies) Fem White Widow seeds from ILGM
4'x2'x5' yield labs tent
Advance Spectrum 270 watt LED and a PlatinumLED P300
Currently have 1 36w blue spectrum LED and 2 23 actual watt 5000k CFLs a few inches above them
4" 190cfm exh fan w. Charcoal filter
Medium- FFOF FFHF 50/50 mix amended w/ Perlite
Germed 2 seeds on 2/10 and planted them in solo cups on 2/13 they sprouted 2/15...
As a newbie I was overwatering them but since backed off and only water with distilled water when the soil is dry and pots feel extra light...any tips or opinions on these girls...I want to try some LST possibly with one of them most likely the taller of the 2 since one seems to Bush out and one seems to be stretching ...I was struggling with humidity but have since got a humidifier and temps have settled around 73 to 78 with 40% to 60% humidity... all pictures are from 2/19 (6 days from sprout) thru this morning 3/01...Feel free to comment...

That's it, if you can at least keep them growing and learn from or catch your mistakes as you go you are way ahead of a whole lot of people! It seems to me one of them has more of a taller stem than the other but the growth looks identical. Try to keep the humidity closer to the 40% during veg and even lower during flower. 40-60% humidity during flower = mold! So keep thinking about ways to improve the humidity. When you are watering try not to let them get extra dry or even just dry. What happens is when you let them get that dry is you start to get little channels in your dirt as it dries out. What that does is it allows water to pass by certain areas that you don't want it too. Water spreads throughout your dirt much more than most people think it's does. I'm not saying a little goes a long way but you'll start to get it? Keep us posted. Good luck!

Some updated pics taken yesterday...they seem to still be pretty short and my guess is that's just the genetics of the strain..i raised my lights to hopefully induce some vertical growth...humidity was around 45% before i opened up the tent and was working in there so don't mind the 35% in the pics seems to drop alot when i open the doors and raise right back up when i close em up...any tips on when i can top or FIM and begin some training to increase top shoots for more colas when in flowering? also there seems to be alot of lower growth happening can any of this be trimmed? check out the pics let me know what u guys think...

Forgive my ignorance, but WTF does anybody get out of "BUMP"? It doesn't improve your odds of anything more happening in your thread!

Only tips I can give from my LED grow so far is have some CAL MAG on hand. Mine have been sucking in the magnesium faster then I can give it.
Also the height of the LED is important.

Too close and youll get no vertical growth. Too far away and they will slow down.
For my LEDS,
12 inch disatance gave no vertical growth, had 5 nodes all within 4 inches of height.
16 inch gave a slightly amount of vertical growth, Was getting 1/2 a inch each week.
18 inch gives best vertical growth, 1 inch a week.
20 inch gave slow vertical and horizontal growth. 1/4 vertical with with horizontal over a week.

And lastly pest control seems to be harder.
My sticky mite traps havnt caught anything at all, The bugs just seem to collect around the stickyness instead of going onto it. So iv been needing to use neem more often then I would normally. (once a week instead of once each 2 weeks).

The sativa iv been growing have been a hell of a lot shorter under the LEDs then they have been in my past out door and HPS grows.
At this time frame they are just coming on to 1 foot in height. If they were out doors they would be 3-4 foot and if HPS 2-3 foot in this time frame.
Leaves look completely different. Not the normal skinny ones that have. Looking at the plants you would think they are of indica strain.
Will be intresting to see what they do when I switch to flower, But want to make sure iv got my mag fully under control.

thanks for the tips. i just purchased some Cal/Mag and have since adjusted the height of the LED's i have from 12" to 18" above top of the canopy. i see the effects of pests but cant see or detect any in the tent or on the plants but i went ahead and purchased some pest strips and will see if the collect any bugs or pests. im not to familiar with neem oil or its application but will do some research and make a decision on that if the strips do in fact reflect that i have a pest issue. they are about 30 days into veg and still only 7"-9" tall 10" at most not sure if that seems right for the time frame being a heavy indica strain so hopefully the height of the lights helps because as it is now they have around 5-6 nodes all within like 5" of height.

Going on 7 weeks veg with these girls. Kind led k3 600 at 24" from tops. Sativa dom 65/35. Mainlined for 8. They are only 12" tall. The babies are 7".
20150524_115250.jpg20150524_115342.jpg 20150524_101402.jpg
and the 2 babies in the middle are pure indicas, about 2 weeks veg, front has been topped for 4 mains and the one in the back had only been topped once for 2 because of slower growth. Flipping to flower in a week.

I love my LED's.
Your girls are looking good.
