Yes it does appear we all are a product of Public Schooling. What a wonderful country we live in, makes me proud when I write the property tax check.

Well I was first under the impression that standards would actually bring up the whole US in education but instead it hasn't really done that. What we should be spending money on is the music / technology / sports programs and stop spending all the money on bureaucrats. I really don't understand how some schools can't afford to have a football team but are ran by people who could just cut a little piece off their paycheck to pay for it. We pay the principals and board of directors way too much to do way too little.

Analyze your opinions and compare it to reality, most american universities are large sports stadiums with small learning annexes. Your suggestions for improvement are extremely broad, any specifics on tackling these issues?

Whent to a bad school where i was allways watching my back and fear of getting shot. So i had a very bad experience. But i have seen some schools that are nice but you have to b middle class or upper class.

I'm sorry to hear that you went to a school like that. Why did your parent move ? Like I said before some public school do need improvement, but on the whole we should be thankful that we have an education system where the poor and rich alike can get a basic education.

If the free market had spoken, the person(s) that is opposed to something would not be automatically encompassed within it under threat of violence or home theft.

You have no idea what a free market is. One defining characteristic is others do not make your choices for you. Nice use of crayon though. New box?

The 10th plank of the Communist Manifesto called and said, "nice job comrade" !

I think there is a better solution...

Wouldn't it be better if instead of a "we" deciding how you will spend your money and your time, with or without your consent, you decided?

Which other things do you think others should determine for you? Ownership of your body? Your property?

Did you not decide to send your successful sons to public schools ? You had a choice and you elected public schooling.
Now support the system that you used. Do it for the babies

You present a false dichotomy. It isn't a "choice" if only some of the possible options are allowed.

If a person must pay for a public school, whether they use it or not, there is no real choice.

So, once again you are wrong. At least you are consistent there.

you could have home school your childre or sent them to private school, then maybe your argument would hold water. You did not.. You dress your little men up and sent them to our wonderful public school. Same with what your awesome parents did to you.
Why do you hate other peoples children.

Even if you home school, or send your children to private schools, you are still forced to pay for public school.

so did someone force you to not homeschool your kids?

did you have the option to homeschool your kids?
Good question Meathead. Yes, people are STILL forced to pay for that which they don't use and reject - Government schools - even if they home school.

Here's an example of your erroneous "free market". You make your clothing at home, yet Walmart still says to you, pay me or I will take your house.

In a real free market, you would not be forced to pay for that which you don't use and haven't made a voluntary agreement with that particular service provider.

You're really not very bright are you?
