I don't know what you mean by grassy. One of them looks like its still in veg so yeah it's supposed to be leafy , and the others have colas the size of your head and popcorn buds the size of your brain.

The sativa hybrids are much different than the landraces.

I want to hook my brother up with a true sativa to grow in the Caribbean, and have been looking into strains etc. I'm looking for pure lines.


Edit: to stay on topic, I've had best luck with stuff like miracle grow 20-20-20, Marine cuisine 10-7-7, biotone starter plus 4-3-3. Lately I've been dabbling with organic amendments only and straight water.

I'm also looking at maxsea products, they offer a 16-16-16 I believe.

Note that all these products have N in sufficient quantities

I'm by no means an expert, but I do better (at growing) when I just give them a balanced food the whole way, and they do better too.

Is there any difference doing that in outdoor soil vs. indoor potting mix? Someone recently said outdoor soil can handle more extreme ratios. I don't know, but wouldn't have thought about going over 3-x-x.

No difference. Young growers have been brainwashed by their peers who have been brainwashed by hydro vendors.

Think outside of the box - cannabis is nothing more than a sub-tropical/tropical foliage plant that blossoms when the time is right. All tropical foliage plants bloom, it's just what they do, doesn't mean one needs to fall into the bloom food trap which most times works against the grower.

You got it! You can always tell if it's a noob hooked on flashy mutts by the content and spirit of their posts. That's why Advanced Shysters snake oils sell well - not on their content but because of a pretty label with all the false claims/testamonies.

Yes, it was sativa dominant - witness the narrow leaves and airy buds. That's just what sativas do. Some were pure sativa, the original Haze hybrid as seen here (leaf burned a bit by very gusty, dry winds) which was pleasantly controlled with 2 judicious drenches of a 3% paclo drench. This was November, very close to harvest and impending fall frosts.

I used to grow indoors with ONLY organics that I custom blended. Worked extremely well. Having said that, this is the best bang for your buck....the best nutritional value re: 5-1-3 NPK and micros, on the market. For most this is enough to split with 5 people and still have enough left over for a gymnasium full of plants.

Speaking of sativas, here's some photos of a pure Vietnamese sativa, seeds from the Dalat valley that I gifted a fella in Santa Cruz. He grew them in a greenhouse and when they reached 8'+ moved them outdoors. Did not witness them first hand but the photos suggest that this Dalat had some really heavy bud, calyx, production. Quite unusual for a pure sativa. Lucky him, he got to do some crosses with the Dalat and a backcross of the original C99 that I did and gifted him too.
