Hey just a heads up. I got a 40 pound bag of alfalfa pellets at tractor supply for 15 bucks. I'm sure any feed store carries them.
Just make sure that they are not bound with animal fat. I got them for my vegetable garden. You can put a cup of them in water to break them up. Then mix by hand into small batches of soil.

Sounds like a great deal, I found a livestock/farm supply store about an hour away that has a lot of organic amendments, I don't think their alfalfa prices were that low though! I was just looking up how to grow alfalfa, I have a nice sized packet of seeds I got from Todd's Seeds. I'm going to try to grow my own this year.
