This is different for each location and style of grow, based on environmental conditions, strains, type of system, style of training, etc.

300ppm = .6 EC using the ppm = EC x 500 scale. This is very low in most instances and will lead to starvation, low yields and poor terpene/resin production.

The problem with ppm scales is that there are lots of different ones... which is why the pros all use EC. You should, too.

Maybe his RH is low which encourages low EC....

Another odd thing(but good thing) I noticed when I switched to Jacks was up till than I seemed to be constantly battling thrip and gnat issues but haven't seen a single one of either since making the switch.

a measurement of dissolved solids in plant sap (using a refractometer).. high readings generally equate to high plant health and high plant secondary metabolites..
