My dry pipe is freaking awesome...the design with the 180* turn in it...It's splendid...It cools the vapor to the point that it's less "harsh" than some of my smaller water rigs. The vapor has to travel through something like 12" of glass before it hits my mouth.
Ye i imagine the pipe turns make it cool due to the way the vapour travels. One of the smoothest bongs i have eeeever hit was little bubbler that had a couple of 90degree turns as well as a wee smoke collector kind of like an upside down roundy cone. Until then i was an avid tall wide glass tube is the best user.

I get stir fried off of one good hit in a pipe. What the hell would happen to me with a dab?????

I know! But a long time smoker friend of mine is convoked this is the way to go. He said it's an awesome body high and really mellow. I was thinking it would be good for achy body/pain.

Uhh hey guys I think we accidently ended up stealing @Hookabelly 's thread !! Oops.....

Hooka I bought a cheap ass battery for about 7 bucks and a small skillet for about 9. So you can get into it cheap. I prefer using my bong for dabs but it's huge and hard to lug around. I wish you were close down here I'd get you started with some of the C99 extract @cannabineer made it's wonderful stuff.
I don't mind the threadjack at all :-) But you lost me at battery and skillet.

What is it doll?

LOL my mother had a skillet like that, she used it to make and hold the gravy for large dinners. I am hungry gravy sounds wonderful.

That's a battery (I am quite new to this too). Essentially you want a decent rechargeable with enough milli amps to heat the coil(s), to vaporize the oil you placed in it.

If you want to go ecig type tanks you have to dilute your oil with propylene glycol (as CN told me).

This is a skillet:

Sorry for the huge picture but I wanted to make sure you could see the wick and coil. I put about about a 5mm dab of oil in there and can get several days of smoking from that.

Essentially you need to make sure that the skillet and battery share the same connector type or you will have to purchase an adapter. There are starter kits out there but mostly they are for smoking ecigs. There are 'mods' that carry more coils etc... You can get a wall charger or USB charger for the battery.

I'm happy with mine but I still love joints. I just HATE rolling them.

I went into one of the head shops near Wrigley field to get something and was looking at a small recycler and a titanium nail. They wanted $300. I though it was funny.
There's a place by me that does 'mods'. I am like @Hookabelly I'm learning. There is so much new stuff, nails, bubblers etc.. etc... I really like joints LOL

What is a simple way to test a lot of different strains without rolling entire joints? My bong is huge so I figured a pipe. But like a tobacco pipe? Help me Obi Wan :)

Folks are most helpful at the head shops etc, but I just laugh to myself. Who'd have thought the first place I feel like an old geezer is in a head shop? LOL They go into all this detail and feature/benefits about each thing, then they branch off into a whole new topic and I feel like my mother in the Verizon store…..LOL

That is so true and I feel so dumb. The store I bought my battery/skillet combo from the Indian guy was kind and really on high sales mode. He knew a clueless newb when he saw one. So he was talking in the new code they use and finally I gave up and said, "I just need something to use for my concentrates."

He just sighed and said ok, stopped the code, and heavy sales pitch and set me up with something for flowers (a skillet with a screen over the coil), and coil without the screen for oil. I was out of there with a battery, adapter, USB charger and several skillets with and without screens.

Using them over time has helped me understand that I want more coils, variable battery etc.. so just start simple. I still don't really understand 'nails'. I think this is group knowledge. It changes by affiliation and that alters with age, le sigh... and as we age we isolate more so we reduce our exposure to this type of information. I like to think we become more discriminating. I am often full of shit :) and need to hang out on the poop threads more.

Haha...being a member of a weed growing website, dabs are everywhere...But really, to most people, I don't think they're THAT mainstream yet. Everyone WANTS to hop on the bandwagon, but it's an expensive ride unless you grow your own...

But yeah, concentrates are great...They're just the bees knees!

Indeed concentrates intrigue me.
We are so set in our old skool ways it seems to make dabs, wax, etc. intimidating.

I know I'm always shocked when I hear people pay so much money for something I lose on the ground. I mean 3 grams! I'll lose that much on accident, LOL. But I've only increased my intake with my growing so I never had to buy it. The cost of this stuff, that grows so easily, is unbelievable to me and I really couldn't justify purchasing it not to mention the worry of other grower's methods.

I feel bad for the person who doesn't get high off dabs anymore. That's all a lot of people smoke is concentrates I will feel bad once they don't get nothing but a sloppy ass tired high for 30 min. Just like they did when their flower tolerance hit a final climax. I read on the internet there are Marijuana theme shirts that read " Flowers are those for your girlfriend " its a shame nowadays
