Ideas on a new system

I'm building one of these right now, but with metal hoops instead of PVC, using a bender from hoopbenders.net

total cost for 16 x 80 (8 feet high) is around 1300.. the poly-ag brand 6mil poly with IR and anti-condensation was just over 300 for a 24x100 piece from bw greenhouses in abbotsford..

top rails for the hoops are standard home depot issue 1 3/8 x 10'4" for 15 bucks each.. 2.5 top rails for each hoop

I'm using 1" EMT pieces 2.5 long for anchors, with a 1/2" hole drilled near the bottom end to slide a piece of rebar through.. which I will pile a bunch of rocks on, instead of concrete (did not want any concrete in the garden).. top rails slide nicely over the EMT..

I'll post some pics later as it progresses..

we'll take the poly off over winter as this design has no snow load..

What about using the frame from one of these with the proper cover? About $250 new at Crappy Tire when on sale for 10'x20'
Used frames are sometimes free in my area as the tarps only last a few years due to harsh weather where I live.
Think this would work?

I bought one at Can Tire a few weeks ago...10 x 20 for $179. I'm using mine as a 'garage' though, no hope for a green house in the middle of a forest!

You put it together yet? Pack a box of patience. Took me 2 days to get mine together by myself. Get a buddy to help if you can.

No Im talking about using a proper greenhouse cover or even just clear plastic. Keep the tarp for winter protection. Just an idea

I wonder if one of these underground greenhouses would work here in canada. Supposedly the temps stay consistent within ten degrees because they are below a certain level.

That looks awesome, I'm picturing a stealth version of that, using "solar panels" for the peaked roof at ground level, which are actually just see-through glass panels with a reflective coating on the outside to make them look like solar panels No heat signature, stealth, and year round greenhouse, hmmmm....

Could even go one step further and build it inside an old beaten down barn with no roof.
That thing would be undetectable forever.

I met a guy yrs ago that built a greenhouse out of an old treehouse 25-30feet up in the air.
Super stealth but a pain in the ass to haul water n supplies to.
He had camo netting around the outside.
I bet no one noticed that thing.

just throwing some ideas out there, a battery like that plus a submersible 12v high pressure pump on a timer.. swap out batteries or build a battery bank.. fill a nearby hidden res in the off season and as need be, perhaps from a slightly more remote natural water source.. don't forget your ghillie suit and night vision goggles..
