I'm not saying photos don't have their advantages, but there's still benefits to Autos indoors, especially for newbies. The plant it and go approach means that newbies have less to screw up in terms of transplanting, topping and FIMing, lighting, and more.
My growbox indoors is lightproof (as any decent growbox/room should be), so lights on 24/7 has no impact on my stealth. Obviously that much light would be an issue if I used HID or the like, but I use LEDs, so my consumption is VERY low (yes, it would be lower on 12/12, but with LEDs we're talking pennies not dollars).
I also don't need different setups for veg and flowering; I can keep a constant rotation of plants in the same box, because they don't need different life cycles (which for someone with limits on space and stealth, is VITAL to keeping me in weed between harvests). When one plant is maturing, another is sprouting right beside it. In states with limits on number of plants and the like, this makes it easy to keep a constant stream of weed coming without violating plant numbers in a compact space (something that's trickier to do with photos because of the need for different light schedules). Not saying it CAN'T be done, but that it's easier for some to just have one small box that runs the same amount of light.
Yields may be based on genetics, but there's a strong belief (not based on science, yet anyway, but firsthand grower observations) that the Ruderalis genes allow for shallower roots and smaller taproots that are better about branching sideways and growing in shallower/smaller pots. Roots are where the yield is really made: regardless of plant genes or whether it's auto/photo, healthy and strong roots lead to better harvests every time. Maybe it's just skilled growing, but AFs seem to do very well in smaller (1 gal or so) pots, especially with tiered planting.
Again, I'm not bashing photo growing by any means; if I had the space to have a bigger cabinet I'd DEFINITELY grow some (mainly so I could have a flowering and veg chamber, not because photos can't be controlled size wise). I'm just saying that the argument that "Autos are for outdoors only" ignores a wide amount of scenarios and advantages that run contrary to that statement. Nor am I saying they have no place outdoors; although I'd argue that if you don't have enough light for photos outdoors, you might not have enough light to make the most of an auto (since it seems the more light they get the better the yield), and should consider indoor planting anyway.
EDIT: Sexy plant though, BTW. Shows you're not talking out of your ass when you can get a girl like that going
