Employees were told not to use the phrases ‘climate change,’ ‘global warming,’ 'sea level rise,' or ‘sustainability,’ attorney Christopher Byrd, who worked with the department's Office of General Counsel from 2008 to 2013, confirmed to Reuters.

The euphemism suggested to employees for “sea level rise” was “coastal resiliency"

good ol' GOP. when they can;t deny facts or revise history, they just ban words from the lexicon like good little propagandizing fascists.

I remember seeing that article yesterday. And although I hate to agree with Buck, he's right. It's a "1984"-ish thing to do, throwing words down the memory hole. Just fucking stupid.

DAMN GOOD POINT!!!
This crap is ancient. Remember when a common drug cartel became A Transrnational Criminal Organization ( I think it was). Remember when Gov. induced inflation was called printing more money, now it's Quantitative Easing.

How is the president's choice of words anything like a policy banning the use of words? Are you as dumb as you seem to be?
Florida , its politics & police forces have to have the worst human rights violations in the country , last week they shot a kid in the face , next week spitting on the sidewalk will be illegal , oh wait Alabama's allready got that one covered .

They cant possible think clever wording is gonna make anything better .

Reminds me of Full Metal Jacket where their forced to change Search & Destroy into Sweep & Clear .

Clever PR or nefarious perversion of vernacular?
