Any notice the extra cops? A LOT of u/c on the road today..... Also the ABCB/MCB defined a public place today:

AS 11.81.900
(53) "public place"
means a place to which the public or a substantial group of persons has access and includes highways, transportation facilities, schools, places of amusement or business, parks, playgrounds, prisons, and hallways, lobbies, and other portions of apartment houses and hotels not constituting rooms or apartments designed for actual residence;

Hmmm. Don't see much accommodation for those who use cannabis as a medicine, funny how you can dose up ANYWHERE on opioids/other drugs that actually can cause harm, but not ganj.:roll:

Far as locations go, my experience has been that its difficult to avoid smoking in parks, let alone "places of amusement"...bongsmilie wtf does that even mean?!

Ha I didn't realize that it was down there im in Anch too, my bad lol. So redic how much they're trying to change what we voted for.

Its subverting the will of the voters!
Other changes to the bill include making it a felony to posses 25 or more cannabis plants and a felony to possess "compounds, mixtures or marijuana substances with an aggregate weight of 16 ounces."

What about where we clearly laid out in BM2 that it should still uphold Ravin V State which laid precedence for possession of ALL cannabis grown (in legal compliance, ie plant numbers) on the property... It seems that they don't fully understand that even 3 plants if grown DECENTLY, not even great, will produce more than a 1 pound/16 ounce crop....
This is laughable and clearly an attempt to undermine the voters.

Tell everyone that they're meeting to change the law and you can come and speak, but its in Juneau; Tomorrow at 1:30pm; and the earliest public flight from Anchorage to Juneau is TOMORROW at 12:45pm; And the flight is at least an hour and a half....
Seems like they don't want anyone who's not already there to participate.... Some kinda public forum hunh?!

You'd think that I actually tried to go hunh?! Well the wife had the Alaska air miles and I had a 5-10 minute speech about what I think, I thought it'd be a kick to film it and put it on youtube.... Needless to say, after looking for the ticket, I realized there was no way for me to make it, or anyone for that matter...

Yeah they probably do that on purpose so no one that knows there stuff about all of this can go.

Are you saying there's another hearing before the Finance Committee at 1:30 tomorrow, too? If so, I watched some of the 1:30 hearing today, and people were limited to speaking 3 minutes or less. But you can testify via phone from anywhere in AK, and many people did.

When I called I waited on hold for an hour and 28 minutes and then was told via a recording that my comments as important as they were would not be able to be heard today. If I still had a concern over this matter I could contact the Lt. Governor by email and would receive a prompt response...

ACTIVISM COUNTS. Protest in your own city, that doesn't require a plane ticket.

Pro tip; before taking your buddies outside to yell and wave signs in front of the local govt buildings, call all the news outlets to tell them you'll be there and you expect media coverage.

Yes, the pols ARE trying to change the law without consulting the people. Nothing new. Let them know that they won't get away with it.

I agree w this! Either do something about it or quit bitchin! People need to do more doing and less whining when nothing's done
