Skunk #1 phenotype variation

I got a 10 pack of regular seeds from dutch passion. I'm going to keep track of these and post about how many pheno types I find. From my understanding skunk #1 isn't as stable as they claim. At least that's what subcool claims. So I'm going to buy a 10 pack every so months and really find this shit out.
The very first time I ordered seeds was from Kind seeds back in 2002 when they had the inside cover catalog in high times. I ordered 10 feminized dutch passion skunk #1 and the 6 I grew (I gave a few away) were very stable and uniform. That strain made a lot of happy 1st grower when I gifted them clones.

Can you get skunk 11 in regular seeds? I've heard about some orange pheno in skunk, and that's what I'm after. The juicy fruit, and the orange one. I totally know that it could be a waste of time but damn it sure is fun.
I think I'm going to stock up on different breeders skunk#1. And just start popping seeds. Now I'm also interested in the difference in breeders as well.
I could be wrong, if you are looking for the Orange skunk, it could be "Cali-orange" or "Orange skunk". Same strain... I have been looking for a Orange skunk also. I have tried HomeGrownFantaseeds- Cali-orange, it is hard to find but like $40. I have TGA's JillyBean which has Cali-orange in it.

I am now looking for a "dead skunk" pheno.

Well, it was a collective breeding effort back in the day on the west coast. Started in the late 70's. Used Afghani, Oaxacan and Acupulco Gold... mixed em up and then started breeding. I'm pretty sure the Afghani represented 1/4 of the genetic donation as opposed to 1/2 as it's a sativa dominant variety. Anyway after they were first mixed, a few different lines were worked from the original hybrid. Which is why you have different #'s but they're still called skunk. So it is a different expression of the same original parents. Hypothetically these expressions could be very dramatically different but from what I've seen I think the #11 is a more sativa dominant expression of the classic skunk.
And the #11 is about the only strain i'd run from DP/ :joint:

Awesome I had jilly bean is what started all this. I went to the high times cannabis cup and spent $300 on seeds then ordered the skunk 1 just recently. I popped agent orange with is suppose to be orange skunk, but there all orange velvet x space queen or jack the ripper. I'm gonna get some California orange skunk for sure in the near future. Also I'm in the diego area and wouldn't mind trading clones to get some orange skunk

I recently got some California Orange fem seeds from seedsman. I just popped one and she is about 1 week old. I will post pics once I get her into flower.

I'd personally recommend Sensi Seeds, we ran their super skunk last year under only CFLs and it was Fantastic !!! SUPER- HIGH calyx-to-leaf ratio, very stinky, resinous buds. It was extremely easy to grow and a sheer pleasure to smoke - :leaf:
Sensi seeds is on par with dutch passion for not so stable genetics, at least from all the reports I've found. The best was an old magazine, Cannabis Culture, had an article where they ran 50 Dp durban poison and 50 sensi durban p. The Dp was stable and had nice phenos, none of the sensi's were any good and had like 11 phenos out of 50 beans.

Either way, sensi and DP have both put out less than stellar packs so if ordering either company just be on top of your stuff because they both have issues with stability.

P.S. Sam "the skunkman" did not originate skunk #1, he stole it. He was a junior member of Sacred Seeds, an american collective dating back to the forties, and when all the senior members of Sacred got busted in the 70s, Sam somehow was not present for the bust but he did go to the dumpster that the DEA threw all the seeds and plants from the sacred seeds bust. So sam emerged with thousands of seeds that people like ex korea war vets, helped create. Sam took those seeds to Europe, where magically he was given a license to grow weed for scientific research, even though real scientific groups had been denied that same licensing.

Sam the skunk man is a thief and has totally fucked off real marijuana greeding, I mean breeding, by doing away with years of correct breeding technic for everybody's favorite, hybridized unstable genetics and feminized seeds.

Three cheers for corporatizing weed.

Yep, I am giving Sensi on last run with this Mr nice that should have been (g13 x Hp) but I read somewhere they are using a new hash plant now. All the female I have had were haze, and looked sativa. One male looked more ind, but a different male was used for crossing. I now have an indi looking female that just showed sex, and has a very sweet (I think I smell coffee) scent.
But about the orange skunk, I just got a tangilope cut and the sample it came with was very sweet orange/tangeringe skunk.

It's a little more than that. It's based on a skunk pheno yes but it's not the same. All orange bud is skunk, but not all skunk is orange bud. Orange Bud used to be my favorite a long time ago. Good calyx to leaf ratio, back then anyway, so nice round compact nuggets.
True mate! Only reason I said it is skunk 1 is from the info on seedfinder, I only looked at the bottom geneology tree. I'm lazy, yes :)
I used to smoke something called orange bud a while back too, it was just like you describe but had a really pungent smell too it. Hence why I thought the orange bud by DP was the same thing, I'm most probably wrong though!

Well atleast the feminized seeds have gotten to be so good that in the big picture it might have been worth it.
Thank goodness for feminized seeds, clearly the biggest leap in MJ growing in 10,000 years.

Yeah in the wrong way. Mono type growing is horrible for the weed culture and makes for week genetics.
