4x8 or 5x5 tent for flowering?

Hey mate I was running a 4x8 flower tent but i had two 600s for better lighting coverage as a 1000 watt wouldn't cover that area

I have now changed and my flower tent is 5x5 with a 1000 watt only running 5 plants or maybe 4

if you pick the 5x5 a 1000 would be great if you go with the 4x8 use 2x1000 if you can control the heat or just use 2x600watt

I agree with the Nerd. Just to add, a 1000 can not be utilized in a 4x4 space to its fullest extent. It is more of a 5x5 footprint. In a 4x8, I would go for two 600s and be done with it.

I would go 6x6 instead of the 5x5 for a 1000w just to have everything spaced out. Its probably just a few bucks more and you can utilize the floor space. For an 8x4 I would definitely have 2 lights, preferably 2 leds to keep the temps low.

A lot of guys use there lights and supplement with led panels, that's a option too, apparently red spectrum is great for terpines production

There is no way you are gonna put 4 600s in a 4x8 or even 2 in a 5x5. Not gonna happen.

You are NOT utilizing the lights. Any real grower knows that the lights have a footprint. You could accomplish the same results in your space with one of those lights, or one big hood. Having those hoods on top of each other is a waste.

Also, you are cooking the second bulb by drawing the warm air from one light into the other hood.

I have a 4x8 and two 1000w lamps in cool tubes with xl wing reflectors and they bathe the closet wall to wall to wall to wall.
I like 1000w over 600 because you get about a vertical foot deeper light penetration.

You also for some reason think my second bulb is some how getting "cooked" by the 80° air that comes out of the first hood. Any air, even if it is warm air is going to cool both bulbs. I guarantee any bulb running without being air cooled is far hotter than either bulb in my hoods.
People recommend 1000 watts for a 4x4 area all the time so I really dont see the issue using two 600s. You act as if what I am doing wont work when in reality it is working just fine.

Sorry to get your panties in a bunch but this is a forum to share ideas so the members can see many differant setups that they might not have thought about. I don't post about topics I don't know about. In this particular topic I know my setup is working quite well for me so that is what I suggested.

Ok dude, you are just being childish. Two 600s in a 5x5 will physically fit, but can't be utilized to their fullest extent due to how it works. It is wasted light. You are not using ANY of the lateral beam with the hood on top of each other. NO grower that knows what they are doing would put them like you have them. One light would do the same thing that your two are currently doing 600 or 1000.

Heat kills bulbs. If you are not drawing cool air over your bulb, how is it being cooled? If the air being pulled into the hood is 80 degrees when it goes in, what cooling properties does it have? IT IS COOKING YOUR BULB! The point of the hood is to keep it cool and prolong the life of the bulb. Each hood should have it's own outside intake.

Your setup will work but it is not a "good" setup. Many things will "work", but are they setup correctly? You clearly posted on a topic that you don't know about. In a 5x5 or a 4x4, using more than one 600 or 1000 is a waste.

My panties are just fine, but you should not be giving advice when you haven't got a clue as to what you are talking about.

You have an opinion, I am employing scientific facts. Grow up. You are wrong and don't know how to setup grow rooms or ventilation. Doing something that just "works" is NOT good enough. The point of this thread/forum is do improve what you are doing and change things if you are doing them incorrectly. This is done by talking to people like myself that have done this stuff before and know what they are doing. If you had any idea as to how many grows I have built and what it is that I actually do, you would listen to my knowledge and experience instead of stroking your ego.

You half-assed grow will never produce anything close to what I do and the costs you have attributed to your poorly running system make cost you way more in the long run than you are willing to realize. Please, leave the thread. You have nothing useful to offer.
