Hey mate I was running a 4x8 flower tent but i had two 600s for better lighting coverage as a 1000 watt wouldn't cover that area1000 watts...
I have a few clones veging not sure if i wanna mother em or grow em big and put em in
Just tryin to get a general opinion
Or if anyone has experience with a 5x5 with 1000 watts or a 4x8 with 1000 watts thanks
There is no way you are gonna put 4 600s in a 4x8 or even 2 in a 5x5. Not gonna happen.I would run 2 600's in the 5x5 and 4 600's in the 4x8 if you can manage the electric bill. definitely go with air cooled hood also.
You are NOT utilizing the lights. Any real grower knows that the lights have a footprint. You could accomplish the same results in your space with one of those lights, or one big hood. Having those hoods on top of each other is a waste.two 600's fit just fine in my 4'x4' closet. I dont see the problem. Plants seem to have an affinity towards light. It's strange I know.
It is fine to do things your own way, but don't give bad advice based on your bad decisions to beginners. I am not the god of growing, but I have forgotten more about growing than you have learned.I really dont care as long as my plants grow good, which they are. If thats ok with you god of all growing I think I will continue.
Ok dude, you are just being childish. Two 600s in a 5x5 will physically fit, but can't be utilized to their fullest extent due to how it works. It is wasted light. You are not using ANY of the lateral beam with the hood on top of each other. NO grower that knows what they are doing would put them like you have them. One light would do the same thing that your two are currently doing 600 or 1000.first you say two 600s wont fit in a 5x5. I clearly proved that to be false. Now you say the 600 that I could fit in the 4x4 is basically wasted light. Have you ran two 600s in a 4x4 then ran a single 600 in the same space to see the differance. I will go out on a limb here and say probably not since you said it was not possible to do in the first place. You also for some reason think my second bulb is some how getting "cooked" by the 80° air that comes out of the first hood. Any air, even if it is warm air is going to cool both bulbs. I guarantee any bulb running without being air cooled is far hotter than either bulbs in my hood. People recommend 1000 watts for a 4x4 area all the time so I teally dont see the issue using two 600s. You act as if what I am doing wont work when in reality it is working just fine. Sorry to get your panties in a bunch but this is a forum to share ideas so the members can see many differant setups that they might not have thought about. I don't post about topics I don't know about. In this particular topic I know my setup is working quite well for me so that is what I suggested.
