Hey guys, anybody got a recipe for a soilless mix I can make from scratch with some peat moss and/or coir as the base? Thanks!
Simpl as that?1 part coco, 1 part perlite.
That's it. Some people even swear by 100% coco. If you use peat you'll definitely need to add some lime because it's acidic(in the low 4's I believe), thus making it a little less simple if that's what you're going for.Simpl as that?
And lime to balance peat acidity?hMix peat, perlite and vermiculite....proportions vary depending on preference and strain...
How much lime brother? That's it. Some people even swear by 100% coco. If you use peat you'll definitely need to add some lime because it's acidic(in the low 4's I believe), thus making it a little less simple if that's what you're going for.
Let's say I had a bale of peat moss, some perlite, and lime. Could I mix those 3 to get a good mix and then feed the hydro nutes from then out?If you're using the potting mix with hydro nutes, omit the lime. If you're using something like jacks classic or organics, build the potting mix with lime.
Don't use lime if you plan on using a hydro mix.Let's say I had a bale of peat moss, some perlite, and lime. Could I mix those 3 to get a good mix and then feed the hydro nutes from then out?
So should I just use coco as the medium instead of peat? Or will this ph of the peat not matter?Don't use lime if you plan on using a hydro mix.
