What Would You do?

What would you do if someone gave you a 2'x4'x5' cabinet, and 15 young plants (good genetics - 4th to 6th node) of unknown sex ?

Top them and use the tops to clone them out and keep track of which plats they came from. When those root, flower them and know which of your plants is a boy before you can fuck up your garden. You wont have to monster-crop and you wont lose any time on vegging. ;)

Do I have to root them then sex them. and is there a way to sex them with a microscope without flipping the lights. THey are only 3 inches tall. Not really enough biomass for a viable clone without waiting or allowing to stretch. Ive never had plants that "didn't stretch enough"IMG_20150319_204224_805.jpg by the fourth node

They may start to show sex before you flip to flower, just depends. Girls will have hairs or pistils coming out from the nooks where stem meets stem, boys will have little balls or banana clusters pop up in the same place.

You wont be able to verify until the plant shows you. Mad Prophessor has it right, clone them when you can and label them so you know which plant they came from. Then put the clones under the 12/12 and see which are boys and which are girls. Cull the boys in the main box once the clones show their gender, then veg the remaining girls until you want to flip them to flower :weed:

*edit*

Oh, and yes you should probably wait until your clones take root before you switch them to the 12/12 schedule. Plant needs as little stress as possible while its forming its new root system, and I would assume that 24 hour light would be best. I could be very wrong though on that, maybe nature prefers a dark period.

Then again nature doesnt clone itself like we clone it, and im starting to ramble. Ill stop myself here. Good luck sir :)

The one thing different I would suggest, would be to keep the clones under the same light cycle as the plants they came from. They are used to their schedule and will not experience any stress from the cycle change this way. It just helps them to root faster. ;)

I see I posed that last question wrong. Or at least didn't explain enough. I'm not extremely concerned with their later viability. Just need to know the sex of the 15 so I can get a couple into their cabinet asap. I'm extremely limited on head room. I have 5 strains of three plants each. Hopeing for at least one of each to be female. I will worry about more clones and picking a couple to be mothers after culling the males and making some room. Until she gives me free rein for the whole 11x12x8 room.

No. Its my shit. I acquired, propagated, and nurtured. I posed they questions as if I gave you all my stuff right now. What would you do with it. The cabinet is 2x4x5.5 feet high. I have a little more i have to spend on heat management and intend on running 600w in an open reflector and two plants scrog.

Next time try stating that you are proposing
A Hypothetical Scenario, maybe more will play along if it doesn't smell fishy.

I got that feeling myself. New to this type of thing, (computer) recently pulled an old grow cab out of storage after a 15 year hiatus. I will rethink method and propose and post my ramblings accordingly.

I'd store tools in the cabinet & throw the plants in a party store dumpster .

Bringing clones/plants into my grow op is a no no , especially soil plants , my room is mite & varmint free & thats the way i want to keep it , bringing in outside genetics into your clean grow is a good way to buy yourself a huge infestation .

you wldnt believe the paces i put this dj short f-13 plant through (that I got from a phriend), before i integrated her. i was sure i had almost killed it, just preemptively screwing with it.

actually, just ignored it in paper bag for three days (the fear) and then completely drenched that shit in captain jacks.

the buds get dark blue/black on this f13, blackberry anise sativa racy buzz, so i just had to get her back!
