Depends on the state. But where I live now, I can blast you in the face 9 times with a silencer if I can successfully prove I was defending myself or my property (while you were on it).

That means if you try to car jack me, I will put one in your head, call the cops, stick around until they arrive and drive home after, stop off and pick up a coffee.

I have a friend who used this exact technique once. She went to NY with friends and got separated at like 2am, so pretty country girl, kinda drunk and alone in NY..she was followed by this guy who eventually confronted her. she looked at the guy and said "you're kinda stupid doing this with a cop right there.." when he turned to look for a cop she kicked him in the nuts a couple times and ran.

What like a civilised country?? I guess some peeps here are from the U.S. Where you Need to defend yourself from other idiots with guns. I have never been in a fight nor do I plan on it.

I don't want to sound too ignorant but are you really able to buy silencers & legally own them in your state ? If so do you need special permits like for fully automatic weapons & such ?

My record prohibits me from owning weapons but my wife legally owns & can conceal weapons , she has a 380 , a 45 , a 12 gauge , 4-10 double barrel & a 9 mm carbine , the 380 & 45 are with us at all times when we leave the home .

No,silencers are federally illegal,and unless you live in Nevada,you need a permit for autos,and in some states they're not allowed at all..
I've got a switch auto,just having the groove cut into the housing for the auto trigger switch is enough to put you away I my state..be careful.

Silencers are not federally illegal. I own 5 of them, and I can freely walk around with them hanging from my pants pockets if I like.

Nope they don't. BATF is the governing body that oversees NFA items, and they have agents in every state, but if I am defending myself and shoot someone in the face with a gun that is silent, as long as it is self defense and I legally own the gun and the silencer, I am not violating any law, state or federal.

Yep, I own 5 silencers and a RLL. I have a 308 sniper rifle that is silent, a 300 blackout that is silent and a 223 that is pretty much silent. I also have a silent 22 and soon I will have a silent 45 in my truck. I also have a silent 17hmr for when I go camping.

I also own some SBRs.

All completely legal.
