I respect that you disagree, but I've read sooo many of your posts , and um, well from what you have put in your soil? yes. ph WILL matter, we go back a bit man, and you like to do things your own way. Not really a bad thing, but it does slow down the progress to a dialed in growing media when you insist on experimenting and trying out what others have already clearly established, not to mention soil science in general.I would have to disagree as I have before, but pH Does Matter even in soil, Peaceful Valley makes their own soils and composts, and they Specifically use a pH meter to check the soil. There is Literally a Picture on one of their catalogues with a guy sticking a Huge pH Meter in a Big Pile of soil they were making. pH does Matter, but like gmm says if you use the right recipe you will not have to worry about pH because there are a lot of people who have Already done the research, and know what does what etc... BUT! If you wish to create your own soil, or your soil is Too Acidic or Too Basic you Will have to Know what substances to Add to Lower or Raise your pH. The chart i provided above from groworganic.com says it all for the most part.
And fertilizers as someone said Are USUALLY Acidic, and Soil USUALLY Is Acidic BUT Can Sometimes can be Basic, and Soil Usually becomes More Acidic Over time... Though like my Soil, it becomes More Basic... All depends on the ingredients and environment.
hahaha! just read this to my girlfriend haha because it was pretty much Dead On! And hahaha she told me to tell you She Thanks You from the bottom of her heart and soul! hahaha after dying laughing of course, and says thanks for teaching me life lessons... Done correctly organic growing ph isn't a problem, I haven't checked ph in decades.
Because it's not a problem once you understand what all the nutrients do, and the relation between them.
check your runoff if it makes you happy, check your ppms too.
Well what is your soils pH? i Know EVERYONE Disagrees with me that you can Not test your pH in Soil, but i can Show you my pH meter in all different soils and they Each Read the Corresponding pH... for instance my soil shoots to 9.1+ pH but does go back to 7, but does it Everytime so that means that it is Definitely 9.1+ (does Not go above 10pH though -- this is an electric meter, there are litmus papers you can get for soil if you want to, and liquid) but if i go to the Woods the Pine mould is 3-4pH and Holds there which means it is Definitely 3-4pH, and Then Finally if i Check ProMix Mycho Soil it holds at 6.5pH a Perfect pH of Soil and what i would Bet Money is the pH they make their soil.Well I got me some very fine lime, how much do I use in my 5 gal smart pot and how much do I use in my 3 gal smart pot and in my 2 gal pot not 2 gal but close let me know for each pot, I'm going to just make sure my plane water and my water I put my food in is ph to 7.0 figure if the pH is going to drop It will do it slower with a pH of 7.0 in my water and food, or am I wrong
I water every 3 days, that is when my soil is dry as hell and my plants are saying hey I need water, they wilt like that when the light goes off then they come back around after a couple hr, they only get 3 hr dark kuz they autoflowers , and I'm not just adding lime when I first watered my plants in the doc farm soil it said 6.5 on all 3 pots I used a 10 dollar pH pin, now my soil days 5.0Well what is your soils pH? i Know EVERYONE Disagrees with me that you can Not test your pH in Soil, but i can Show you my pH meter in all different soils and they Each Read the Corresponding pH... for instance my soil shoots to 9.1+ pH but does go back to 7, but does it Everytime so that means that it is Definitely 9.1+ (does Not go above 10pH though -- this is an electric meter, there are litmus papers you can get for soil if you want to, and liquid) but if i go to the Woods the Pine mould is 3-4pH and Holds there which means it is Definitely 3-4pH, and Then Finally if i Check ProMix Mycho Soil it holds at 6.5pH a Perfect pH of Soil and what i would Bet Money is the pH they make their soil.
i would Not go adding lime to your soil all willy nilly, haha as greasemonkey pointed out, i have First Hand Experience what happens when you do Not follow directions and just start throwing ingredients in. But i would MAYBE add it to your water. i Would Not add it to your soil, and really even if your Runoff is that low that does Not mean that your soil is in an Incorrect pH range. What are your plants telling you? And according to your picture i will say that you need to Not water them for a bit and let them Grow.
don't ever want to wait for your plant to wilt brother, damage is done already at that point.I water every 3 days, that is when my soil is dry as hell and my plants are saying hey I need water, they wilt like that when the light goes off then they come back around after a couple hr, they only get 3 hr dark kuz they autoflowers , and I'm not just adding lime when I first watered my plants in the doc farm soil it said 6.5 on all 3 pots I used a 10 dollar pH pin, now my soil days 5.0
Idk why that one is wilting it dose that every day then comes back , when they need water they wilt a little bit not much I don't let them go under watered long at all I check them frome time to time, I know if its over watered the stem points up and the leaf Is sagging down and that's what she is doing just her not the other 2 ,now if I under water the stem and the leaf both sag down i do not let them go under watered that bad for it to wilt down bad, but I know I'm not over watering that's why I don't know why my plant is wilting like it is over watered, she not doing it now but will be later on I don't understand it kuz I know I water her when she needs itdon't ever want to wait for your plant to wilt brother, damage is done already at that point.
Organics like somewhat of a moist soil, more accurately described, i'd say they like a humid soil.
You know what? I dig the natural way.. I been using a worm farm and my own presence to boost levels.. i can kinda tell how much theyre getting by their leaf stance.. Usually very perky .. But I find if I leave town health can dip below peak performance easier.. Since sensi is a variable dependent organism, her progress is slowed only by her weakest link..i was unsure if people were still using co2 in a organic style grow, as i have been taught that although organic chemistry is the study of carbon co2 is still not considered organic. A source of mine is a chemistry major and says it could still be considered a organic grow even if inducing co2. Any comments on this anyone? Are you using co2 "Don" ? If so how much ? if you don't mind me asking...
Haha, Glad I could help, coughphee.. Gotta love double uses of things hey.Very useful information you just dropped on me, i had no idea they helped with the control of pest (mites) ,and i also tried your technique the other night... lets just say i see what you mean when you say they're praying when you peek. Thanks for dropping some knowledge on me "Don T ". I shall be guru as like you soon one day.
