what light should seedlings be under 6500k or 2700k

I have 2 new seedlings that are about 5 days old. I know that you use 6500k for vegging. What happens if you use 2700k for vegging? I am using 25 watt 6500k cfls right now but I have 65 watt 2700k cfls also. I was just thinking the bigger bulbs would provide more light.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Mixed spectrum is ok , so is 5000k bulbs. Minimum is around 2000 lumens per square foot or 2 23w 100 per plant / maximum or optimal is about 5 23w 100 per square foot .

So at least 5000 - 7500 per square foot would be good. Calculate your grow space ( square footage ) and you can figure what your requirements for light are.

So let's say 10 sq. ft. , you are looking at about 500 - 600 watts of light.
I built this cfl hood that can be used as a 4 , 6 , or 8 bulb CFL using 5000k 100w or mixed bulbs or straight 2700k. It uses less than 300w of power. I added cabinet style floros in the 2700k spectrum during veg to add more wavelength of light as a side light to illuminate undergrowth.

This is I how do autos. I use a 600w led panel for regular grows.
I actually like growing with CFLS better because it allows me to experiment with lights.
