Spot problem, Ca def? Questions...(pics)

Hey, pictures 1-4 I took yesterday morning, and after the HOURS of reading posts on this site, I figured I might have had a Ca def., and my PH was at a 7. So, I got some Ca nutes from Home Depot, and added a bit of lemon juice when I watered and the PH is at 6.6 I just would like a second opinion from more experienced folks =) Now, pictures 5-6 I took about a half hour ago, after my hopefully correct remedy yesterday afternoon. Looks quite a bit different in 24 hours I think...?? Any advice would be very helpful! It's a Jock Horror strain from Nirvana, and I planted it straight in a mix of supersoil, Jamiacan cave bat guano, wormcastings, bone meal, and perlite. I threw my last 3 seeds (out of 10) into the mix day before yesterday, and they now are already almost an inch tall! (I just threw them in mind you, didnt prep them) So, I was going to transplant the 3 babies into individual pots (keep your fingers crossed for me!!) Any words of wisdom, anyone?

Oh yeah, I also forgot to say that I sprayed with Spectracide Immunox 3-in-1 Insecticide plus fert. I had a gnat problem, so I put potatoes on the soil (no signs of ANYTHING yet on those) so maybe I got em before they laid eggs in the soil. I didn't know if those spots were pests or a nute problem, so I sprayed anyway just to be safe. Thanks again! Cant wait to read your replys =)

If that's aluminum foil you have around your pot, you should take it off right away.

The plants aren't real bad if it's nutes, not gnats. Lowering the pH seems like the right place to start. I grow in Hempies so I can't tell you what the ideal pH is for your set-up. For pH down I use white vinegar, as suggested by Mandala Seeds. If you use it go slowly- 1/4 teaspoon per gallon will change your numbers. Hope you don't have gnats; if so, get Mosquito Dunks at Home Dep, etc., crumble some in the soil and your water container. They contain a bacillus that kills the larvae eating your roots.

I like the organic oproach! But the raw food like patatoes and bannana peels left too long will atract bugs big time. Dont use home depot shit it contamates your organic grow. The spots could be from a lock up all that bat shit could be a nitro overload, I hate spots!! drives me nuts trying to guess wtf is up with them bitches, well the good thing is that marajuana will let you know how its feeling. When in doubt flush 3 gallons for every one gallon of soil. collect the first bit of run off ( couple oz's) and that will give you an indication of your soil ph, too high too low will be a start. Water at 6.3 let your water airate for 24 hours, use real nuts like botanacare, general hydroponics, canna, foxfarm, and advanced nutrents. only use 1/4 every other watering or half strenth if they show a major def. keep that soikl like "moist cake" That is the soil trick, not too tight or too loose, packing soil is an art brother its something no one can teach you, trial and error dude. keep building materals away from the grow room toxic chemicals reek havoc on unsuspecting growers keep it clean! good luck noob

Well, I took the foil off right away (as suggested), and I removed the potato chucks to see if I had bugs, and Not a SINGLE one! YAY! Having a little difficulty getting the PH to stay at 6.5 -- seems to always want to stay at 6.8....

Transplanting the little ones today into 4" sq black pots, so they can get more light...they are gonna be hella stretched if I leave em in there with the big one..Thanks for the replies folks =) Happy smokin!

6.8 is not bad. I also use white vinegar, but remember to agitate the water for a minute or so to oxygenate and mix well BEFORE you take your pH reading. Remember also that calcium tends to buffer the water towards a higher pH, and that buffering means that it will resist pH shift.

If you want to use an organic pesticide, go with tobacco tea. F'ing works wonders, kicks the living shit outta neem oil (what a waste that was), and you can smoke your buds safely after use.

10 grams loose tobacco (I use American Spirit or Bali Shag) to 1 liter very hot, not boiling, water. Steep overnight, strain. Add a drop of non-antibacterial/antimicrobial soap (those soaps are the devil), shake it up, spray, ensuring you hit all surfaces as well as the soil.

Oh yes, if you're using fertilizers and still having problems with deficiencies, look into starting them up on something that has Mycorrhizal fungi. Google it, they are amazing.

Just now got done transplanting the 3 babies (Jock Horror)...put 2 more lights in there, aiming for totally organic! =) One thing Ive noticed with the altitude I am at (4500 feet), that the humidity needs to be a little less than recommended, Im gathering thats because of the pressure change/oxygen change. Will be keeping posts going, keep your fingers crossed!!! =)

if this is the same shit that i have then its a fungus called rust! google it to see if its the same. its next to impossible to completly get rid of it spraying your plants with a fungicide will help!

Interesting. I'm at about 2,800', but when we lived in Tahoe it was around 6,200' and I really noticed how so many things are different, like baking.

Nope, no spidermites (thank God!!!) The spots are mainly along the veins Ive noticed. But a few are between them also. The only dusty stuff I see is the salts from the nutes when foliar feeding.
