Well, I am absolutely shocked to hear that John Baird has joined the board of Barrick...didn't he just step down? I thought politicians weren't allowed to negotiate new jobs while mps or something like that...what a bunch of motherfuckers.

he stepped down so he could get his pension...and then moved...i am sure it was very planned and he was loking knowing what he was doing

99% of politicians put their time in (not like politics pays well) to eventually do one of 2 things. Become a senator which is essentially a free ride for life + some, or get enough high profile contacts to essentially do the same thing when they get out of politics by getting board positions. The 1% are either stupid, or rich and not in it for the money.

Or collect a very generous pension for putting in 8 years service

he had to leave office sooner than later so that his pension was locked in at a better position than it would have been had he stayed on and got shuffled out of cabinet once the election is over. now he can double dip by working a plush job in the private sector. i wonder how the private sector will put up with him being an arrogant prick...

I think they are much more cunning today than in years past....they are computer savvy
and can join any media stream they like and have a bot search for things people are saying about them...

and they can pose as someone else or have a staffer do that...and then as "the question" to the politician & make him look good
like that fake guy for the LP a while ago. i don't think that was an original idea...haha
